STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma men's basketball dropped its Bedlam clash against Oklahoma State 72-56 at Gallagher-Iba Arena on Wednesday night.
Grant Sherfield scored a team-high 15 points and dished out four assists.
Jacob Groves added 10 points and
Milos Uzan and
Jalen Hill each tallied eight.
Tanner Groves wrangled a team-high 11 rebounds.
The Sooners (11-7, 2-4 Big 12) entered halftime up six after Sherfield went on a 13-point scoring tear with 13 minutes remaining in the half.
C.J. Noland buried a 3-pointer at 14:23 and tied it up at five.
Bijan Cortes laid in a driving layup to give the Sooners their first lead of the contest.
Sherifeld buried the jumper on the next OU possession and started his offensive spurt, putting the Sooners up 9-5.
After back-to-back OSU (10-8, 2-4 Big 12) buckets, Sherfield drained his lone 3-pointer of the night.
The Cowboys pulled ahead by one after back-to-back baskets and Sherfield found himself at the line after a foul on a 3-point attempt. Sherfield hit his final shot from the charity stripe and scored on OU's next trip down the court.
OSU responded with a dunk and 3-pointer to regain the lead for the last time in the half.
Sherfield again found himself at the line after he was fouled on another 3-point attempt and buried the trio of free throws to tie it at 18-all. The Fort Worth, Texas product pushed Oklahoma up by two on a jumper to conclude his scoring run.
After Sherfield's five unanswered points, Uzan added to OU's lead with a jumper and Sherfield capped the 9-point run with his final basket of the night, putting the Sooners up 24-18.
The two in-state schools traded baskets for the final five minutes and OU went into the break up 30-24. Oklahoma State gained momentum early in the second frame and held a 10-point advantage with 11:35 left. OSU scored 48 points in the final 20 minutes and finished the contest on a 13-2 run.
