NORMAN — University of Oklahoma head men's tennis coach
Nick Crowell announced the Sooners' 2022 fall tournament schedule on Friday.
The Sooners are slated to be represented at eight events this fall, with different student-athletes competing in varying tournaments around the country.
"We continue to focus on our daily habits as we continue through the fall and will pick up more momentum as we gear up toward the spring," Crowell said.
A group of Sooners will begin their slate in San Francisco, Calif., at the Battle of the Bay tournament Sept. 22-25, while another group will represent OU at the Commodore Invitational, Sept. 23-25.
"Our guys are extremely excited to kick off the fall next weekend in Nashville and San Francisco," said Crowell. "Both tournaments provide great opportunities to challenge them against the nation's best players."
OU returns to the Sooner State to compete in the ITA All-American Championships at the University of Tulsa Oct. 1-9.
The Sooners then head to Fayetteville, Ark.,, for the ITA Central Regional Championships, Oct. 13-17, before they travel to Harlingen, Texas for the Harlingen Futures on Oct. 17-23.
The squad will split time between the ITA Fall Championships in San Diego, Calif., on Nov. 3-6 and the SEC/Big 12 Challenge in Tuscaloosa, Ala., Nov. 4-6.
Oklahoma closes the fall at the Austin Futures in Austin, Texas, Nov. 7-12.
Crowell's team returns six players from the 2021-22 season in seniors
Baptiste Anselmo,
Mark Mandlik,
Alex Martinez and
Justin Schlageter; junior
Nathan Han; and sophomore
Jordan Hasson. In addition,
Jip Van Assendelft and
Aiden Robinson are set to join the squad for the fall competition.
The spring schedule will be released at a later date.
