Sooners Top Maresme Select

BARCELONA – Oklahoma men's basketball improved to 2-0 to start its foreign tour and beat the Maresme Select Team 103-71 Saturday night at Poliesportu Municipal de Tiana.
Grant Sherfield led the offense for the Sooners and tallied a team-best 19 points on 6-for-12 shooting. Sherfield finished 5-for-10 from deep and added five rebounds, three assists and three steals. Joe Bamisile recorded a double-double and finished with 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Milos Uzan nearly achieved a double-double of his own and tallied nine points and a team-high nine assists. Luke Northweather pitched in 16 points.
The Sooners jumped out to a quick advantage over Maresme and held a 17-7 edge halfway through the first quarter. Uzan capped the first frame with a buzzer-beating 3-pointer.
Oklahoma's offense continued to flourish through the remainder of the half, leading to a 56-33 edge at the break.
The Sooners maintained their 30-point advantage through the third quarter and entered the final 10 minutes up 81-49. OU broke the 100-point mark with 2:30 remaining in the contest and have accumulated 197 points in its two contests in Barcelona.
Oklahoma concludes its foreign tour games against the Paris All-Stars Tuesday, August 9 at 12 p.m. (CT).
