Joe Bamisile received an immediate eligibility waiver for the 2022-23 season from the NCAA today.
Bamisile and fellow two-time transfer
Grant Sherfield have both received waivers for the upcoming season.
The duo led the Sooners in scoring in their three foreign tour contests. Bamisilie recorded a team-high 17.3 points and added 6.3 rebounds per game. Sherfield led the Sooners in assists per game (5.0) and contributed 13.7 points and 4.0 rebounds per contest.
Bamisile, a 6-4 guard from Chesterfield, Va., attended George Washington during the 2021-22 season and was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference Third Team. He appeared in 30 games and started 29, averaging 16.3 points and 5.0 rebounds in 31.3 minutes per outing. Bamisile shot 45.8% from the floor and 35.1% from beyond the arc.
Prior to his one season at GW, Bamisile spent his freshman campaign at Virginia Tech. He appeared in 13 games and averaged 3.5 points and 1.5 rebounds per contest.
Bamisile has three years of eligibility remaining.
Sherfield, a 6-2 point guard, played at Nevada the last two seasons and started his college career at Wichita State. He started 28 games for the Pack last season and boasted team highs in points (19.1), assists (6.4) and minutes (35.1) per game. He was named to the 2022 All-Mountain West Third Team.
Sherfield has two years of eligibility remaining.
