OU Falls to No. 5 Michigan in NCAA Second Round

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — The Oklahoma men's tennis team's season came to a close in Ann Arbor following a 4-0 loss against No. 5 Michigan in the second round of the NCAA tournament. 

In doubles competition, Welsh Hotard and Justin Schlageter fell to Nick Beaty and Patrick Maloney 6-0 on the No. 2 line. At the No. 3 spot, Nathan Han and Jordan Hasson fell 6-3 to Ondrej Styler and Jacob Bickersteth. 

When play was halted, Mark Mandlik and Baptiste Anselmo were down 5-4 to No. 24 Andrew Fenty and Nino Ehrenschneider. 

In singles, Hotard fell to No. 77 Ehrenschneider 6-0, 6-2 on court five. Schlageter dropped court four against No. 70 Bickersteth 6-2, 6-2. At the top spot, Mandlik fell to No. 27 Styler 6-4, 6-2. 

When play was halted, Anselmo was down 6-4, 5-1 to No. 88 Maloney at the No. 2 line, while Hasson had a score of 6-4, 0-6 against No. 64 Fenty on court three. 

UP NEXT

Mason Beiler will play in the NCAA Singles Championships, which will begin May 23 at the Khan Outdoor Tennis Complex in Champaign, Illinois.
