NORMAN – The No. 2 Oklahoma women's tennis team is set for its second weekend on the road for Big 12 action to face No. 26 Iowa State and West Virginia beginning Friday. The Sooners will begin their trip in Ames, Iowa, against the Cyclones on Friday before traveling to Morgantown to face the Mountaineers on Sunday.

Layne Sleeth and
Alexandra Pisareva took court two, 6-1, over Margarita Skriabina and Cristina Tiglea. To clinch the doubles point, No. 4 Ivana and
Carmen Corley defeated Kailey Evans and Avelina Sayfetdinova, 6-3, at the top court.
With the 1-0 lead, the match went into singles. Texas Tech started strong with two back-to-back court wins. The first came from No. 85 Avelina Sayfetdinova as she took down OU's No. 56
Ivana Corley on court three, 6-4, 6-2. To take the lead, Red Raider Olivia Peet defeated No. 43
Carmen Corley, 6-4, 6-1, at the No. 2 spot.
The Sooners answered with a court six win from freshman
Emma Staker, taking down Cristina Tiglea, 6-2, 6-3. Senior
Alexandra Pisareva gave Oklahoma the lead with a court five win over Kailey Evans, 6-4, 4-6, 6-2. To secure the victory, No. 19
Layne Sleeth grabbed the ranked win against No. 26 Margarita Skriabina, 6-1, 2-6, 6-3.
Freshman
Anchisa Chanta continued play, ultimately leading her to a 6-7 (3), 7-5, 6-4 victory on court four over Metka Komac.

The Sooners will travel to Stillwater to face Oklahoma State for their last regular season road match on Friday, April 15 at 4 p.m. CT.
