Sooners Prepped for 2022 Big 12 Tournament

FORT WORTH, Texas —The Oklahoma men's tennis team is set for the 2022 Big 12 Men's Tennis Championship at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center on the campus of TCU beginning Friday. The Sooners will meet No. 4-seed Texas Tech in the opening round at 3 p.m. CT.
Friday will mark the second meeting between the two teams on the season. The Red Raiders claimed a narrow 4-3 victory in the first meeting played in Lubbock, Texas, April 8.
Sooner Storylines
Regular Season Recap
- The Sooners closed out regular-season competition at 13-9 overall and 1-4 against the Big 12. OU finished fifth in the league.
- OU notched three wins over ranked opponents on the season: a 4-1 rout of No. 25 Illinois at ITA Kickoff Weekend on Jan. 30; a 7-0 victory over No. 18 Texas A&M on Feb. 25; and a 6-1 win over No. 38 Louisiana on March 20.
- The Sooners finished the season 11-3 at the Headington Family Tennis Center.
- OU has been ranked as high as No. 19 nationally this season.
OU at the Big 12 Tournament
- Oklahoma has won a total of 32 Big 12 titles with the first one coming in 1929. The Sooners' most recent title came in 2015.

- Mason Beiler moved up 10 spots to No. 40 in the latest ITA Rankings (April 20).
- In doubles, Welsh Hotard and Alex Martinez checked in at No. 68 nationally.

The 2022 Big 12 Men's Tennis Championship will be held on the campus of TCU. Live streams and stats will be available for all matches throughout the tournament.
