NORMAN — The No. 2 Oklahoma women's tennis team defeated No. 5 Pepperdine 4-2 on Sunday at the Headington Family Tennis Center. With the victory, the Sooners finished the regular season undefeated at home for the first time in program history.

Doubles kicked off with a 6-1 victory from Ivana and Carmen Corley at the top court over No. 24 Victoria Flores and Lisa Zaar. The Sooners clinched the opening point with a court three win from Anchisa Chanta and Dana Guzman, taking down Janice Tjen and Taisiya Pachkaleva.

When play was halted, Layne Sleeth and Alexandra Pisareva were down 4-2 on court two against No. 54 Savannah Broadus and Shiori Fukuda.

Pepperdine took the first two singles courts. Pepperdine's Janice Tjen, ranked No. 103, defeated No. 76 Ivana Corley 7-5, 6-2 on court four. The other singles victory came from No. 84 Savannah Broadus, who took down Alexandra Pisareva at the No. 5 spot, 7-5, 6-3.

The Sooners bounced back with a 1-6, 6-1, 6-1 victory from Anchisa Chanta on court three over No. 22 Lisa Zaar. No. 47 Carmen Corley followed with a court two win over No. 46 Taisiya Pachkaleva, 3-6, 7-5, 6-4.

Junior Layne Sleeth, ranked No. 14, defeated No. 13 Shiori Fukuda at the top court in a back-and-forth battle, 6-1, 3-6, 7-6 (10-8), for Sleeth's second-consecutive match clinching victory.

When play was halted, Dana Guzman was up 2-6, 7-6 (11), 4-3 against No. 58 Victoria Flores on court six.

The Sooners will travel to the Big 12 Championship in Fort Worth, Texas, April 21-24.
