⢠Oklahoma begins a nine-game homestand when it takes on Dallas Baptist Tuesday afternoon. First pitch is set for 3 p.m. at L. Dale Mitchell Park. The game was moved up from 6:30 p.m. due to impending cold temperatures.

Trevin Michael is making his first start at Oklahoma. A graduate transfer from Lamar University, Michael made 12 starts in two seasons with the Cardinals (2020 and '21), turning in a 8-4 record and a 3.05 ERA. The Piedmont, Okla., product began his collegiate career at NOC Tonkawa, and came to OU for the 2022 season. In three appearances so far, Michael has earned two saves and posted a 3.52 ERA. In his two save appearances, Michael struck out nine batters, walked three and allowed one run on two hits in 6.1 innings.
⢠After playing nine of its first 10 games away from home this season, Oklahoma is now scheduled to play 16 of its next 18 contests at the friendly confines of L. Dale Mitchell Park. The Sooners will play nine straight at home between March 8 and 20, and their first two Big 12 conference series vs. Baylor (March 25-27) and Texas (April 1-3). The only two contests away from Mitchell Park are a midweek game at Wichita State (March 22) and a non-conference tilt with Oklahoma State in Tulsa (March 29). OU moved is scheduled home series vs. Northwestern State to Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, due to inclement winter weather in Oklahoma.
⢠Oklahoma is in its fifth season under the direction of head coach
Skip Johnson (including the 2020 season that was shortened due to the COVID-19 pandemic). Johnson, who spent the 2017 season on staff as an assistant coach, has led the Sooners to a 117-85 record since taking over as head coach prior to the 2018 season.
Series History
⢠Oklahoma leads the all-time series, 25-14. The Sooners are 21-7 vs. DBU in Norman, and have won four straight at home in the series. The Patriots won last season 9-3 at the Frisco College Baseball Classic in Frisco, Texas. OU won 21 of the first 23 meetings between the programs (1978-2010). DBU won eight in a row between 2011-15. Since 2016, OU and DBU have won each meeting in their own metro area (tied, 4-4).

ā¢Ā The Sooners have registered 22 stolen bases in 28 attempts this season.
Kendall Pettis, who led OU with seven steals last season, already has a team-high six stolen bases.
Tanner Tredaway (six steals last year) and
Blake Robertson have four steals and
Peyton Graham has three.
ā¢Ā OU's most steals over the last four seasons was 46, last year. The Sooners registered 32 steals in 18 games during the COVID-shortened 2020 season, 29 steals in 2019 and 44 steals in 2018.
ā¢Ā Oklahoma finished opening weekend with six stolen bases over three games, then went off for 11 steals against Wichita State on Feb. 22. Three players ā Graham, Pettis and Tredaway ā each had three stolen bases in the game.Ā
ā¢Ā Prior to Feb. 22, no single Sooner had stolen three bases in a game since Erik Ross against Hartford in 2012. Oklahoma (3-1) finished the Wichita State game one steal shy of the school record of 12, set in 1937 against East Central (Okla.) University.

ā¢Ā Oklahoma competed in the Shriners Children's College Classic at Minute Maid Park in Houston last weekend. The Sooners took No. 7 LSU to 11 innings before falling 5-4 on a walk-off home run. OU then dropped the final two games to UCLA (15-3) and No. 11 Tennessee (8-0).

Jake Bennett was outstanding once again on Friday. He allowed just one run over 6.2 innings ā his longest outing of the season so far ā and struck out four batters. He retired the first seven batters of the game and allowed only two hits through six innings. The run that scored was his first allowed through 18.0 innings this season.Ā

Tanner Tredaway led the Sooners with a .417 batting average in the event. He went 5 for 12 with a double and a triple, and scored two runs. He also drew a walk and posted a .462 OBP and a .750 SLG%.
