After five current Sooners competed at Winter Cup in Frisco, Texas last weekend, Oklahoma will continue with their collegiate schedule.

The No. 2 Oklahoma men's gymnastics team registered its highest overall score of the season in a 414.200-403.300 win against No. 3 Nebraska on Saturday night at McCasland Field House.
The Sooners posted their highest team scores on all six events, and OU sophomore Zach Nunez won the all-around with an impressive 82.850.
The Sooners started the night on floor exercise where they put up a 69.700 to earn the event title. The squad was paced by senior Vitaliy Guimaraes' 14.250 performance, tying him for the individual event title. Junior Jack Freeman followed close behind with a 14.150. Freshman Emre Dodanli was the first gymnast to compete in the meet and put up a 14.000, while Nunez scored a career-high 13.700.
In the second rotation of the meet, OU registered a 66.800 on pommel horse. Nunez led the pack with a 14.200, another career-high score. Junior Alan Camillus posted a 13.500, also good for a career best. Benas put up a 13.500 to help the Sooners' tally.
Oklahoma finished with a 68.400 on still rings to take the event title. Senior Spencer Goodell made his season debut on the event and notched a 13.950, tying him for the event title with teammate, Fuzzy Benas. Gamboa set a career high with his 13.800 performance and redshirt junior Evan Perreault scored a 13.500 for the Sooners.
On vault, the Sooners impressed the judges with five 14-plus scores and earned a season-high team score of 72.400 to win the event. OU was led by Benas' 14.750 performance, good for the event title. Close behind was redshirt junior Josh Corona, who scored a career-high 14.700. Sophomore Dan Simmons also set a career-best score with a 14.550 on the event, while freshman Cailen Walker and Nunez put up respective scores of 14.300 and 14.200 to tally the team's highest score of the meet.
In the fifth rotation, the Sooners recorded a season-best 68.800 on parallel bars. Benas led the squad with his 14.100, good for the individual event title. Nunez notched his career high on parallel bars with a score of 13.700. Goodell tallied a 13.800 and junior Alan Camillus registered a 13.650 as OU extended its lead.
The Sooners finished the night with a 68.000 on high bar to cap their event title sweep. Gamboa and redshirt junior Cesar Gracia earned career highs with respective scores of 14.050 and 13.950. Benas put up a 13.450 to finish his impressive night.
Sooners hold at the No. 2 spot in the College Gymnastics Association (CGA) standings after week seven of NCAA men's gymnastics.
Following a 414.200-403.300 win over No. 3 Nebraska, Oklahoma's impressive score helps boost their average to a 409.117, second only to Stanford's 412.583. The Sooners rank first on floor (68.917) and high bar (67.650) and second on pommel horse (66.650), vault (71.733) and parallel bars (68.117). They keep steady at third on still rings with a 67.400 score.
Benas holds ninth on still rings with a 14.033. On vault, Benas lands at fourth with a 14.667.
Freshmen Benas and Gamboa notch top-ten spots on parallel bars. Benas notches third with a 14.467, and Gamboa holds fifth with a 14.017.
The Sooners have two in the top eight on vault, led by Benas in the seven spot with a 14.475. Right behind Benas, Walker (14.450) sits in eighth overall on the event. Sopohomore Zach Nunez sits just outside the top ten in 13th with a 14.300.
Oklahoma put two gymnasts in the top ten in the parallel bars ranks. Benas (14.275) ranks third, while Gamboa (13.70) is tied for tenth.
On high bar, two Sooners find themselves in the top 10. Senior Vitaliy Guimaraes sits in the No. 5 spot with a 13.700 from RMO. Raydel Gamboa holds seventh with a 13.625 average.
University of Oklahoma men's gymnast Vitaliy Guimaraes earned his second career MPSF gymnast of the week award Tuesday and his second career CGA gymnast of the week award Wednesday after an impressive weekend at Winter Cup in Frisco, Texas.
In his first all-around competition of the year after a broken nose injury earlier this season, senior Guimaraes secured first place and claimed a U.S. Senior National Team spot with an all-around score of 83.950. He took first on floor (14.250), second on pommel horse (14.350), fourth on high bar (13.400) and fifth on still rings (13.600). His vault score of 14.450 and parallel bars score of 13.900 helped push him to first place all-around, edging out 37 other gymnasts.
The Sooners will return home to compete against No. 5 Ohio State on Saturday at 6 p.m. at McCasland Field House in Norman, Oklahoma.
