NORMAN – The No. 3 Oklahoma women's tennis team continues conference play with two top-ranked opponents this weekend at the Headington Family Tennis Center to close their six-match homestand. The Sooners will face No. 22 Baylor on Friday at 5 p.m., followed by No. 6 Texas on Sunday at noon.
MATCH DAY BASICS
The Sooners' 2022 matches at the Headington Family Tennis Center will be open to the public and free of charge. Due to the elimination of concessions, fans are encouraged to bring their own food and drinks.
Free pizza will be provided to the first 90 fans for the match against Baylor and rally towels will be available for the Texas match.

LAST TIME OUT
The Sooners started the match in doubles against Tulsa. At the top court, No. 4 duo Ivana and
Carmen Corley took control, 6-1, defeating Valeryia Rozenkova and Maria Berlanga.
Anchisa Chanta and
Emma Staker claimed a court three victory, taking down Lily Hutchings and Ana Naranjo Martinez, 6-2.
With a 1-0 lead, singles action started. Senior and No. 44
Ivana Corley finished first for the Sooners, taking court two in a dominant fashion, 6-1, 6-0, over Shura Poppe. Newcomer
Anchisa Chanta continued the run for OU, defeating Maria Berlanga 6-1, 6-3, on court three.
To clinch, senior
Alexandra Pisareva wrapped up the match on court five with a 6-0, 6-3 victory over Lily Hutchings.
SCOUTING THE BEARS
Baylor will head to Norman with a 12-4 record and undefeated in conference play.
The bears currently have two ranked singles players: No. 109 Isabella Harvision and No. 116 Alina Shcherbinina. They will also bring the No. 5 doubles pair in the nation, Alicia Herrero Linana and Melany Krywoj.
TRACKING TEXAS
The Sooners faced the Longhorns mid-February in the ITA National Indoor Championships, taking the win 4-1 to advance to the semifinals and eliminate Texas for the first time since 2003.
Texas has a 13-3 record, is undefeated against Big 12 opponents, has five ranked singles players (No. 5 Peyton Stearns, No. 50 Kylie Collins, No. 75 Sabina Zeynalova, No. 99 Malaika Rapolu and No. 108 Fernanda Labrana) and two ranked doubles pairs (No. 66 Charlotte Chavatipon/Kylie Collins and No. 77 Peyton Stearns/Allura Zamarripa).

The Sooners will travel to Fort Worth, Texas to play TCU at 2:30 p.m. CT. at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.
