First Pitch

• Oklahoma continues its nine-game homestand with a two-game midweek set against Air Force at L. Dale Mitchell Park. Game times are 4 p.m. Tuesday and 2 p.m. Wednesday. Tuesday's game was moved up from 6:30 p.m. to better allow fans to attend both the baseball game and the men's basketball NIT contest against Missouri State, which tips at 6 p.m. at Lloyd Noble Center.

• The games will be televised by Bally Sports Oklahoma, with Chad McKee and George Frazier calling the action.
• The games will be broadcast locally on Sportstalk 99.3 FM/1400 AM KREF. Taylor Maples will be on the call Tuesday and Toby Rowland will call the game on Wednesday. The radio broadcast can also be found at Sportstalk1400.com and on the Sportstalk1400 app.

• Tickets are available via SoonerSports.com. The L. Dale Mitchell Park ticket office and entrance gates will open 60 minutes prior to the scheduled game time. The ticket office and will call windows are located behind home plate, along W. Imhoff Rd.
• OU will honor members of the military prior to the national anthem before each game vs. Air Force.

Leading Off

• David Sandlin was named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week after his eight-inning, two-hit performance against UTSA on Sunday. He went 8-plus innings, took a no-hitter into the sixth inning and finished with six strikeouts, two hits and a walk allowed. He retired the first nine batters of the game, and then turned back nine in a row after giving up the first hit of the contest.
• Peyton Graham has multiple hits in five of Oklahoma's 11 games this season, and is on an eight-game hitting streak. Blake Robertson has reached base safely in all 11 contests. He and Tanner Tredaway have a hit in five straight games. Jake Bennett has allowed one run, six hits and four walks in 18.0 innings this season.
• In the first four games of this homestand, Oklahoma has batted .360 and averaged 8.8 runs and 11.3 hits per game. The Sooners have allowed a .199 batting average and 5.0 runs per contest.
• Air Force is hitting .231 as a team and averaging 5.7 runs and 2.4 extra base hits per game (19 doubles, 11 home runs). The pitching staff has compiled a 4.94 ERA, 105 strikeouts to 60 walks and 91 hits in 114.2 innings and has allowed a .218 opponent batting average.
• Oklahoma is in its fifth season under the direction of head coach Skip Johnson (including the 2020 season that was shortened due to the COVID-19 pandemic). Johnson, who spent the 2017 season on staff as an assistant coach, has led the Sooners to a 121-85 record since taking over as head coach prior to the 2018 season.

Series History

• Oklahoma leads the series against Air Force 5-0. The teams last met in 2012 for two games in Norman. OU won those contests 8-5 and 6-2. The Sooners also won home games in 2004 (16-1) and in the first meeting in 1971 (13-2). OU was victorious in the 1983 NCAA postseason meeting in Tampa, Fla. (12-9).

Player Leaders

• Jackson NIcklaus now paces OU with a .371 batting average (13 for 35 in 10 starts). He has two home runs, three doubles, five RBIs, eight runs scored and five walks, and has compiled a .450 OBP and .629 slugging.
• Blake Robertson reached base in the first 13 games of the season. He is batting .327 with a team-high 16 hits, three doubles, one triple, seven RBIs, 10 runs scored, 13 walks, four steals and a .460 OBP. He also leads the team in walks and runs (tied), and is second in doubles and RBIs (tied).
• Cade Horton leads the Sooners with eight RBIs. Tanner Tredaway (T-second with seven RBIs) is also tied for the team lead with 10 runs scored and paces the squad with four doubles.
• Diego Muniz is batting .346 with a team-high .526 on-base percentage in 13 games and eight starts this spring. Peyton Graham has multiple hits in five of Oklahoma's 11 games this season. Jimmy Crooks is on a seven-game hitting streak and a nine-game reached base streak. Jake Bennett has allowed three runs (two earned), 11 hits and six walks in 24.0 innings this season.

Recapping Last Week

• Oklahoma swept a three-game series against UTSA last weekend at L. Dale Mitchell Park, winning by scores of 10-5, 8-3 and 9-5.
• The OU starting trio of Jake Bennett, David Sandlin and Chazz Martinez combined to allow just 10 hits, four runs (three earned), six walks and compile 14 strikeouts in 21.0 innings vs. UTSA.
• Jackson Nicklaus went 7 for 13 (.538) with a home run, a double and four runs scored vs. UTSA. Brett Squires batted .556 (5 for 9) with four RBIs and Jimmy Crooks hit .500 with two RBIs and four runs scored. Diego Muniz notched four RBIs in the series opener on Saturday.
• Oklahoma got back in the win column last Tuesday, opening the homestand with an 8-7 win over Dallas Baptist. OU starter Trevin Michael struck out 10 batters in 5.0 innings and Jaret Godman got the last four outs for his second save of the season. The Sooners scored seven runs in the fifth inning to take a 7-1 lead and added another in the seventh inning to hold off the Patriots.
• Cade Horton and Sebastian Orduno each drove in two runs vs. DBU. Horton drove in a run in the fifth inning and singled in the seventh, and Orduno hit a two-run single in the fifth. Peyton Graham singled, doubled and scored a run, and Blake Robertson singled, walked twice and scored two runs.
• Adding in Michael's start vs. DBU, Oklahoma's four starting pitchers combined to allow just 11 hits, five runs (three earned), eight walks and compile 25 strikeouts in 27.1 innings last week.

Theft on the Basepaths

• The Sooners have registered 31 stolen bases in 39 attempts this season. Kendall Pettis, who led OU with seven steals last season, already has a team-high eight stolen bases. Tanner Tredaway (six steals last year) has five while Blake Robertson and Peyton Graham each have four steals so far this season.
• OU's most steals over the last four seasons was 46, last year. The Sooners registered 32 steals in 18 games during the COVID-shortened 2020 season, 29 steals in 2019 and 44 steals in 2018.
• Oklahoma finished opening weekend with six stolen bases over three games, then went off for 11 steals against Wichita State on Feb. 22. Three players — Graham, Pettis and Tredaway — each had three stolen bases in the game.
• Prior to Feb. 22, no single Sooner had stolen three bases in a game since Erik Ross against Hartford in 2012. Oklahoma (3-1) finished the Wichita State game one steal shy of the school record of 12, set in 1937 against East Central (Okla.) University.
