NORMAN – Oklahoma (14-14, 4-11 Big 12) hosts Oklahoma State (13-14, 6-9 Big 12) for the second game in the Bedlam Series Saturday, Feb. 26 at Lloyd Noble Center. 

The Sooners and Cowboys previously met Feb. 5 in Stillwater. OSU captured the first game in the series. 

Oklahoma was led by Tanner Groves, who tallied 23 points on 10-for-17 shooting from the field and wrangled a team-high nine boards.

Groves and Elijah Harkless each finished the first half in double-figures and it marked only the fifth time this season that two Sooners have reached double-digit points in a half. Harkless finished with 15 points, grabbed six boards and had a season-high five steals.

SCOUTING THE COWBOYS

  • Oklahoma State (13-14, 6-9 Big 12) last played Monday, Feb. 21, forcing No. 10 Baylor to overtime at Gallagher-Iba Arena. OSU has won two of its previous five games and has wins over Kansas State and West Virginia.
  • The duo of Avery Anderson III (11.7) and Bryce Thompson (11.0) each average double-figure points. Anderson is OSU's team leader with 1.70 steals per game and adds 2.3 assists and 3.1 rebounds per contest. Moussa Cisse boasts a team-best 6.0 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game.
  • Oklahoma State ranks 15th nationally in total blocks (141), 17th in blocked shots per game (5.1), 20th in total steals (235), 21st in field goal percentage defense (39.6), 23rd in turnovers forced (16.1) and 24th in steals per game (8.7).

OKLAHOMA VS. OKLAHOMA STATE TIDBITS

  • Oklahoma and Oklahoma State will meet for the 244th time Saturday. OU holds a 140-103 record against OSU and the Sooners hold a 87-28 advantage in games played in Norman. The 243 games played are the most against a single team.
  • Oklahoma's Austin Reaves and Oklahoma State's Cade Cunningham were both named to the 2021 All-Big 12 First Team. Reaves now plays for the Los Angeles Lakers and Cade Cunningham for the Detroit Pistons.
  • In the Jan. 20, 2018 game at Oklahoma State, Trae Young attempted a program-high 39 (14-for-39) field goals and 20 (8-for-20) 3-pointers. Both are Big 12 records. Young's 48 points were a career-best and tied the Big 12 record set by Iowa State's Melvin Ejim against TCU. It also tied the fifth highest point total in program history. His 34 points in the second half are a conference best in a half.
  • Anthony Bowie recorded the first triple-double (19 points, 10 assists, 11 steals) in program history against Oklahoma State Feb. 27, 1985. All three triple-doubles by the Sooners are with points, assists and steals.

UPCOMING MILESTONES

  • Senior guard Umoja Gibson has accumulated 1,465 points between his time with North Texas and Oklahoma. Fellow senior Tanner Groves is 18 points shy of reaching the 1,000 point plateau and 14 rebounds away from 500 career boards.
