NORMAN – Oklahoma fell to Baylor 38-35 in a hard-fought battle Saturday afternoon at Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.

The Sooners (5-4, 2-4 Big 12) entered the fourth quarter down 31-28 after Drake Stoops scored his second touchdown of the season on a nine-yard reception with 4:52 left in the third. The Bears (6-3, 4-2 Big 12) then completed a drive that covered 5:35, scoring on a 10-yard rush by Qualan Jones to extend their lead to 38-28.

Oklahoma responded on its next possession, driving 75 yards on 13 plays and scoring on a one-yard plunge by Eric Gray to pull within 38-35 with just over four minutes remaining. It was Gray's second rushing touchdown of the game and his eighth of the season. Baylor got the ball back on the kickoff and converted two third downs to run out the clock.

Gray rushed for 106 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries. It was his third straight 100-yard rushing game and sixth of the season. He also registered career highs in receptions (eight; tied) and receiving yards (58). He was the first OU running back to record eight receptions since DeMarco Murray against Missouri in 2010. Gray is also the first OU running back since Rodney Anderson in 2017 to notch at least 100 rushing yards in at least three consecutive games.

Dillon Gabriel completed 22 of 34 passes for 261 yards and two touchdowns, and established a career high with 70 rushing yards on nine carries. He also ran for a 10-yard score on Oklahoma's opening possession, giving the Sooners their only lead of the game.

Baylor scored on back-to-back possessions to go ahead 14-7, taking advantage of an interception to set up its second score. The Bears converted Oklahoma's three interceptions into 10 points.

Gabriel found Marvin Mims wide open down the sideline for a 63-yard score with 3:01 left in the first quarter to tie the game at 14. It was Mims' eighth career touchdown reception of at least 50 yards and his 16th career catch of at least 40 yards. Mims finished with 120 yards on four receptions (average of 30 yards per catch), notching his third 100-yard receiving game of the season.

Gray scored his first touchdown of the game on a five-yard rush with 6:46 remaining in the first half. The score capped a nine-play, 75-yard drive and pulled OU within 24-21, which stood as the halftime tally.

Oklahoma totaled 499 yards of offense, including 238 rushing yards. The Sooners have totaled at least 200 passing yards and 200 rushing yards five times in nine games this season. Baylor's 132 passing yards were the second-lowest output by an OU opponent this season.

Billy Bowman registered his first career interception in the second quarter to stymie a Baylor drive at the OU 17-yard line. Danny Stutsman led the Sooners with 10 tackles, his fourth double-digit tackle game of the season.
