OU Set to Host Pair of Matches

NORMAN – The No. 24 Oklahoma men's tennis team continues play at the Headington Family Tennis Center, hosting Abilene Christian and Nebraska on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
OU will face Abilene Christian at noon CT on Saturday. The squad will then compete against Nebraska on Sunday at the Headington Family Tennis Center in a match slated for 1 p.m. CT.
"This is another big weekend for our team," head coach Nick Crowell said. "We have the opportunity to play two more matches and continue to build on what we started this past weekend."
MATCHDAY BASICS
The Sooners' 2022 matches at the Headington Family Tennis Center will be open to the public and free of charge. Due to the elimination of concessions at the Headington Family Tennis Center, fans are encouraged to bring in their own food and drinks. OU implemented a clear bag policy.
Free pizza will be provided to the first 50 fans at the Abilene Christian match. Sunday's match against Nebraska is Military Recognition, and free camo bracelets will be available while supplies last.
"We want to invite everyone out again and continue to pack the Headington Family Tennis Center," Crowell said.

LAST TIME OUT
The Sooners closed opening weekend, 3-0, defeating Incarnate Word, Bryant and Purdue in Norman, Jan. 15 and 17.
OU swept Incarnate Word and Bryant, 7-0, to kick off the season, going 14-0 on the doubleheader. The team returned to action on Monday and defeated Purdue, 6-1.
In doubles, Mason Beiler and Nathan Han finished first for the Sooners with a 6-3 win over Purdue's Andre Suzanne and Rohan Sachdev on court three. Welsh Hotard and Alex Martinez continued their successful pairing, clinching the doubles point for OU with a 6-4 victory over Sebastian Welch and Michal Wozniak at the top line.
Hotard was the first Sooner to strike, notching a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Julen Morgan on court six, giving OU a 2-0 advantage. At the No. 2 spot, Martinez tallied a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Dudek. No. 49 Mandlik clinched the match for OU with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Wozniak on court three.
The remaining courts played out. No. 31 Beiler defeated Welch 6-3, 6-4 at the No. 1 spot. Justin Schlageter closed out the day for OU, beating Sachdev 6-7 (4), 6-4, 1-0 [8] on court six.
WHERE THEY RANK
OU holds the No. 24 spot in the ITA team rankings. Three Sooners are ranked in the top 55 of the ITA singles rankings (Mason Beiler, 31; Mark Mandlik, 49; Jordan Hasson, 54).
UP NEXT
The Sooners head to Oxford, Miss., for the program's 11th straight ITA Kickoff Weekend appearance. OU will begin competition against Ole Miss on Jan. 29 at 2 p.m. CT, then will play either N.C. State or Illinois on Jan. 30 at 2 p.m. CT.
