NORMAN – The Oklahoma women's tennis team is back in action for two matches this week as the Sooners host South Carolina at 5 p.m. CT Friday followed by Tarleton State on Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Headington Family Tennis Center.
MATCH DAY BASICS
OU returns to the court to face South Carolina at the Headington Family Tennis Center, admission is free of charge. Due to the elimination of concessions, fans are encouraged to bring their own food and drinks. Free pizza will be provided to the first 50 fans at both matches.

LAST TIME OUT
After the Sooners swept Wyoming, 7-0, in their home-opener on Monday, they faced No. 23 Princeton Tuesday to grab their second win of the season.
In doubles,
Anchisa Chanta and
Emma Staker finished first with a 6-4 victory over Princeton's Leena Bennetto and Maia Sung on court three. Ivana and
Carmen Corley clinched the doubles point, 7-6 (3), for an OU victory over seventh-ranked doubles pair Daria Frayman and Grace Joyce at the top line.
Chanta struck first for OU on court three against Zoe Howard, notching a 6-3, 6-4 win on court four to tally another point for the Sooners.
Alexandra Pisareva defeated Neha Velaga, 6-2, 7-6 (3), on court five to put OU in a 3-0 lead. After dropping the next three courts,
Carmen Corley clinched the match for Oklahoma after taking down No. 4 Daria Frayman at the top line with a thrilling final of 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 to give the Sooners a 4-3 match win.
SCOUTING SOUTH CAROLINA
The Gamecocks opened their season at the Carolina Kickoff and will play their first dual match of the spring against the Sooners. The teams last met in 2018 where the Gamecocks came out on top, 4-0.
South Carolina comes to Norman ranked No. 4 in the Preseason SEC Coaches Poll, with multiple ranked athletes.
TRACKING TARLETON STATE
The Texans are headed into Saturday's match with 1-1 record. They opened the season in College Station, Texas to play Texas A&M where they were swept 7-0. Remaining in College Station for a neutral location, the Texans went on to play McNeese, taking a 7-0 victory.
This Saturday will be the first time the Sooners and Texans meet in school history.
UP NEXT
OU will travel to Durham, N.C. for the 13
th annual ITA Kickoff Weekend tournament where they will face Furman on Saturday, Jan. 29.
