NORMAN – The Oklahoma women's basketball team saw it winning streak come to an end Thursday as the Sooners fell to TCU 83-79 inside Lloyd Noble Center.
With the game tied at 71-all, TCU capitalized on OU turnovers and used a five-point scoring run to pull ahead. The Sooners would come back within one point at 80-79 before TCU went to the line and went 1-2 for an 81-79 lead.
Madi Williams missed a three-pointer with two seconds on the clock and TCU took the rebound to the other end to score their final basket.
OU outshot TCU, hitting 50.9% (27-for-53) to the Horned Frogs' 48.4% (30-for-62), but TCU's Lauren Heard exploded for 31 points. Heard was one rebound shy of a double-double as she tallied nine rebounds and 11 steals.
OU was led by
Gabby Gregory, who matched her season high with 27 points on 7-fpr-12 shooting. Gregory scored 17 of her points in the first half and pulled down four rebounds in the contest.
Madi Williams and Taylor Robetson chipped in 14 points apiece and Williams led the Sooners with eight rebounds. Freshman
Skylar Vann scored 13 points for her third straight game in double figures.
