NORMAN – The Oklahoma women's tennis team takes its first road trip of the season Saturday as the Sooners head to No. 24 Arizona State. First serve is set for 12 p.m. CT.
OU heads to Tempe at 3-1 on the season. In their last outing, the Sooners went toe-to-toe with No. 3 Texas, narrowly falling to the Longhorns 4-3 in Norman as the final match was decided in a third set.
Arizona State is 3-1 on the season and 3-0 at home. Two Sun Devils checked in to the latest ITA singles rankings: Ilze Hattingh is No. 31 and Sammi Hampton is No. 115. In doubles, Hattingh and Tereza Kolarova are No. 21 nationally. Additionally, Hattingh and Lauryn John-Baptise are No. 50.
The teams last met in 2019 in Norman, where OU prevailed 4-2. The Sooners won the doubles point then picked up singles wins on courts two, three and four to seal the victory.
