FIVE THINGS TO KNOW
- The Sooners head to Austin Saturday for their final road contest of the regular season. OU will look to split with Texas after falling to the Longhorns 69-58 in Norman on Feb. 3.
- A win in Austin would be OU's first there since 2013 and the Sooners' first victory over Texas in seven meetings dating back to 2018. It would also boost the Sooners' resume for the Big 12 and NCAA tournaments; OU currently sits in sixth place in the Big 12 and jumped nine spots in the RPI rankings to No. 68 after Wednesday's win at TCU.
- OU heads to Texas fresh off a 76-60 win over TCU on Wednesday in Forth Worth. The 16-point decision was good for OU's largest margin of victory over a conference opponent this season. The Sooners' past five conference victories had come by no more than six points.
- At TCU, Taylor Robertson led all players with a season-high 28 points on 10-for-16 shooting from the floor and six 3-pointers while adding five rebounds and three steals on the night. Three more players nearly had stuffed stat sheets in the total team effort: Madi Williams (12 pts, 8 reb, 4 asst, 3 stl), Nevaeh Tot (6 pts, 7 reb, 4 ast) and Tatum Veitenheimer (4 pts, 5 reb, 6 ast).
- OU currently ranks third in the Big 12 in field goal percentage at 44.8% (485-for-1082) on the year. The Sooners are the only team in the league with three players averaging 15.0 PPG or more: Madi Williams ranks third at 21.06 PPG; Gabby Gregory is 12th with 15.68; and Taylor Robertson is right behind at 13th with an average 15.58 PPG.
UP NEXT
The Sooners return to Norman to host three straight games to close out the regular season. OU welcomes Texas Tech on Monday at 6 p.m. on FSOK, followed by TCU on Thursday, March 4, and K-State on Sunday, March 7.
