LAST TIME OUT
The Sooners dropped a pair of matches against No. 2 Texas, Nov. 11-12. The Sooners were downed by the league's best team in straight sets in both matches. OU was the only team to have off over the weekend.
MILESTONE WATCH
Multiple Sooners are closing in on milestones in the final week of the season.
Peyton Dunn needs just 54 assists (27 per match) to reach 1,000 assists for the season. Dunn would become just the second freshman in the 25-point scoring era to reach the mark in. Her 1,000 assists would also place her eighth all-time.
Megan Wilson needs just 30 kills (15 per match) to reach the 400-kill mark. In the 25-point scoring era, Wilson would be just the seventh Sooner to achieve the feat in a single season and the first freshman. Wilson would be the first since Alyssa Enneking in 2018 to notch 400 kills in a season.
UPDATE THE RECORD BOOK
The 2021 team has already made a mark in the record books.
Callie Kemohah's 29 digs in a four-set match against Mississippi State (Sept. 10) are tied for the most in program history. Kemohah is the third Sooner to achieve the mark.
Paige Anderson's 20 solo blocks have her tied for fifth all-time for solo blocks in a single season.
Megan Wilson's 16 solo blocks rank ninth all-time in program history for a single season mark.
Kemohah currently sits in a tie for eighth in aces for a season with 23 and tenth in digs in a season with 418. Anderson is tied for eighth all-time with teammate
Kelsey Carrington (202) for blocks/set average with 1.24. Her 104 block assists are tied for eighth all-time. Wilson's 370 total kills ranks seventh all-time in a single season.
Anderson could also leave a mark in multiple career categories. The senior is one solo block away from the top 10. Her 388 block assists are eighth all-time and her 437 total blocks rank seventh all-time.
TIME FOR A BLOCK PARTY
As a team, the Sooners tied the program record for solo blocks in a four-set match with 7.0 against Lipscomb (Aug. 28). The Sooners set a new program record for solo blocks in a five-set match with 10.0 against Texas Tech (Oct. 14).
WILSON NAMED ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Freshman outside hitter
Megan Wilson was named the Big 12 Rookie of the Week for the third time this season on Nov. 16
The Kingwood, Texas, native tallied 21 kills on the weekend against No. 2 Texas. Wilson averaged 3.50 kills/set against the Longhorns while also adding one service ace, two digs and one block. The freshman had 12 kills in Saturday's match against the Longhorns, her 22nd match of the season with double-digit kills.
THE SETTER, THE LIBERO AND THE OUTSIDE HITTER
The Sooners' trinity of
Peyton Dunn, Callie Kemohah and
Megan Wilson has been one of the best trios of freshmen in the Big 12 this season. The group combined for 10 weekly awards in 2021, helping OU to being the only school to win an award in all three categories.
Wilson was a four-time honoree earning three Rookie of the Week awards and one Offensive Player of the Week award. Wilson was the only freshman to earn an Offensive POW award in 2021 and became the first Sooner in program history to earn two awards in one week. Along with Dunn, who secured four Rookie of the Week awards, the duo won seven total awards in the Rookie OTW category.
