NORMAN – The Oklahoma men's tennis team (8-4) is set to host a trio of matches over the weekend, beginning Saturday with UMKC at 1 p.m., followed by a Sunday doubleheader with Nebraska and Arkansas-Pine Bluff at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.
The Sunday match with Nebraska will be broadcast on Fox Sports Oklahoma.
Last Time Out
The Sooners saw their five-match streak come to an end when they fell to Pepperdine 4-3 Monday at the Headington Family Tennis Center.
Pepperdine took the doubles point to open the match before OU made a comeback push in singles, but fell short of the Waves.
In doubles, OU's
Mason Beiler and
Justin Schlageter rolled to victory on court three, taking out Pepperdine's Robert Shelton and Pietro Fellin 6-3.
In singles, senior
Jochen Bertsch won his fifth consecutive match, routing Pepperdine's Shelton 6-1, 6-1 to put OU on the board. Freshman
Justin Schlageter defeated Enrique Luque Rico 5-7, 6-2, 6-3, breaking at deuce to win the match.
Mason Beiler outlasted No. 69 Corrado Summaria 2-6, 6-4, 6-2 at the No. 2 line.

The Sooners check in at No. 32 in the latest ITA computer rankings, up 10 spots from last week. The Sooners checked in at No. 22 in this week's Tennis Channel/USTA College Tennis Top 25.
Mason Beiler is OU's representative in the ITA singles rankings, where he checks in at No. 104.
