Screen Paces Sooners in Final Fall Event

STILLWATER, Okla. – Hannah Screen notched her third-consecutive top-10 finish to conclude the Oklahoma women's golf team's fall slate on Friday at the Cowgirl Classic. The ninth-ranked Sooners competed as a trio of individuals at the event in lieu of the normal lineup.
"The conditions were obviously tough today," head coach Veronique Drouin-Luttrell said. "I thought Hannah (Screen) played really solid under these conditions. To finish under-par on the course today shows how mentally strong she was all day."
Screen (224, +8) battled brutal conditions at the par-72 Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Okla., on Friday to shoot the field's only score under par at 71 (-1) en route to a T10 finish. The junior transfer from Houston has now placed inside the top 10 at each of the Sooners' three fall events, grabbing a sixth-place finish at the Schooner Fall Classic and third at the Longhorn Invitational. Ranked as the No. 10 golfer in the country per Golfweek, Screen is set to enter the spring season ranked inside the top 15 nationally.
"It feels great to prove to myself that I can be out there competing at the top every week," Screen said. "I'll take the confidence I earned this fall into the spring season, and I'm excited to work on my game for the next few months to get better."
Senior Hannah Lee (232, +18) shot her tournament-low round of 74 on Friday morning to finish in a tie for 26th. The British Columbia, Canada, product has been a steady force for the Sooners over the past four seasons, notching her third event of the fall and 15th of her career. Her 29 pars at Karsten Creek ranked inside the top 15 at the event, as she played consistent golf against the conditions.
Rounding out the Sooners' unattached lineup was redshirt senior Ellen Secor (245, +29) who fired rounds of 83-78-84 to grab 42nd at the Cowgirl. Secor secured a par-three scoring average of 3.17 at Karsten Creek, the 13th lowest mark in the field.
Drouin-Luttrell's team entered the tournament ranked No. 9 in the nation, boasting five players inside the top 120 nationally, led by No. 10 Screen and No. 22 Libby Winans. The Sooners grabbed top-three finishes at both team events this fall, marking five straight top-five finishes as team dating back to 2019-20.
Oklahoma now turns its attention to the offseason, where the team will prepare for a spring schedule that will be capped by the Big 12 and NCAA championships. The Sooners' spring schedule will be released at a later date.
