GAME 13 RECAP: No. 6/6 BAYLOR 77, OU 56
The Oklahoma women's basketball team fell to No. 6/6 Baylor 77-56 Saturday in the Big 12 opener. Taylor Robertson scored 20 points for Oklahoma. The nation's leader in 3-pointers made 4 of 12 from long range and dished five assists. Robertson also went 8-for-8 from behind the charity stripe.
Madi Williams added 14 points for the Sooners (7-6, 0-1). OU's Mandy Simpson pulled down 12 rebounds in the contest to lead all players.
The Sooners scored the game's first seven points and went up 15-4 before Baylor took over. The Lady Bears closed the first quarter on a 13-0 run, and a layup by Cox as time expired in the quarter put Baylor up 17-15. Baylor scored the first 16 points of the second quarter. The 29-0 run overall lasted nearly an entire quarter, and the Lady Bears led 38-23 at halftime.
PREVIEWING OKLAHOMA STATE
Oklahoma State enters Wednesday's matchup at 10-3 overall and 1-0 against the Big 12. OSU rides a four-game winning streak into the game and is 8-0 at home in 2019-20.
In their conference opener, the Cowgirls handed Kansas its first loss of the season 67-49 inside Gallagher-Iba Arena Saturday. Natasha Mack finished with 25 points, 20 rebounds and nine blocks, becoming just the second player in the country since 1999-00 with at least 25 points, 20 rebounds and nine blocks in a game. Vivian Gray finished with a game-high 27 points, seven assists and seven rebounds as well as three blocked shots.
Gray and Mack lead the Cowgirls' scoring with Gray accounting for 19.92 per contest and Mack adding 17.2. Mack also leads the team – and Big 12 Conference – in rebounds with a monster 13.6 per game. Mack ranks nationally in total rebounds.
OU leads the all-time series with the Cowgirls 62-42 and the teams have split the last 10 meetings 5-5. The teams split last year's series with the home team prevailing in those contests.

OU's strength is offense; in-state rival Oklahoma State's strength is defense. The Oklahoma scoring offense averages 78.54 points per game to rank third in the Big 12 while the Cowgirls' scoring defense accounts for 54.62 and is second in the league. OSU's scoring offense and OU's scoring defense rank last in those respective categories.
OU ranks in the top five among Big 12 teams in four offensive categories. The Sooners are first in made 3-point field goals (116); second 3-point field goal percentage (38.2%); third in scoring offense (78.54 points per game); and fifth in field goal percentage (43.6%).
The Oklahoma scoring offense (78.54 points per game) ranks third in the Big 12. The Sooners rank 22nd nationally in the same category. The OU scoring offense has totaled the have scored the second-most points by a Big 12 team this season with 1021; only Baylor's offense has scored more with 1056.
Oklahoma State ranks second in blocked shots per game with 6.77 with Natasha Mack also checking in at second in the league with 3.23 blocks per contest. Mack also leads the league in defensive rebounds (9.77 per game) and total rebounds with 13.62.

Robertson is the national leader in made 3s with 67 this season. Robertson is shooting 47.9% (67-for-140) from deep.
The McPherson, Kan., product also leads the country in 3s per game (5.15) this season. She is averaging the most 3s per game of any player in men's or women's Division I basketball; Dru Kuxhausen of McNeese is the men's 3s per game leader and is averaging 4.36. Robertson is also averaging more 3s per game and a better 3-point field goal percentage (47.9%) than the leading NBA player; James Harden (Houston) accounts for 5.2 per game and is shooting 38.3% from deep.
Robertson leads the Big 12 in 3-pointers this season (67), more than double than the next closest player: Kysre Gondrezick (West Virginia) has hit 32 on the year. As a team, OU has made a league-high 116 3-pointers this season; Robertson accounts for more than half of those.
Of Robertson's 259 total points this season, 201 have come from behind the 3-point line. 38 have come from the charity stripe where she is 38-for-43 (88.4%); just 20 of Robertson's points have not been 3s or free throws.
Additionally, Robertson's nine made 3s at Wichita State tie for the third most in a single game in women's Division I basketball this season and are one shy of the men's 2019-20 Division I single game record of 10.
Robertson has played more minutes than any other Big 12 player, totaling 474 for an average 36.44 per game. The sophomore has played all 40 minutes in four contests this season, most recently against Baylor on Jan. 4.

With 116 treys, the Sooners lead the conference in made 3-pointers by 31; the next closest team is Iowa State with 94 on a .341 clip.
Oklahoma checks in at 17th nationally in 3s per game with 8.9 and ranks fourth in the Power Five in that category. OU's 3-point field goal percentage (38.2%) stacks up at 18th nationally and sixth among Power Five teams.
Taylor Robertson powers the OU offense with 19.92 points per game and has scored 20-plus points in each of the Sooners' last five games.
ANA APPROACHING 1,000
Junior guard
Ana Llanusa is approaching 1,000 career points as she sits at 959 headed into Wednesday's game. As a freshman in 2017-18, Llanusa scored 377 across 30 games. Despite missing 10 games due to injury in 2018-19, Llanusa totaled 365 points. The Choctaw, Okla., native has scored 217 this season.
Llanusa will become the 36
th member of OU's all-time 1,000-points club and the first since Maddie Manning (2012-18) achieved the feat in 2017-18 as a senior. Llanusa will also become the 17
th OU player to reach 1,000 points in three seasons or fewer and the first to do so since Peyton Little in 2016-17.
DUNBAR JOINS WBB ROSTER
Ashlynn Dunbar, who was previously a member of the Oklahoma volleyball team, has joined the women's basketball squad. Dunbar will be immediately eligible to play for the Sooners and will have one remaining year of eligibility for the 2020-21 season.
A standout on the volleyball court, Dunbar joins the basketball roster after a wildly successful 2019-20 campaign as an outside hitter for the Sooners and coach
Lindsey Gray-Walton. Dunbar was an All-Southwest Region and All-Big 12 First Team selection as she led the squad to its first NCAA tournament appearance since 2015.
The Seabrook, Texas, product played basketball at Clear Falls High School where she three-time First Team All-District and two-time First Team All-County honoree. Dunbar was also a three-time recipient of her district's Offensive Most Valuable Player award and was named the district's defensive MVP in 2014-15. As a senior in 2015-16, Dunbar was the McDonalds Classic Tournament MVP and a Greater Houston Area Girls Basketball Association All-Star.
Prior to her arrival in Norman in August 2019, Dunbar spent three years at San Diego State University, where she played volleyball.
QUICK HITS
- OU wrapped up the non-conference slate at 7-5 overall, 6-1 at home, 0-3 on the road and 0-1 in neutral site contests.
- OU is the only team in the Big 12 without a senior on its roster. The Sooners will be one of two league teams (Texas Tech) that will return three players who averaged at least 10.0 points per game.
