FIVE THINGS TO KNOW

•  In their last outing, the Sooners upended No. 25 LSU 90-68 in their first meeting with a ranked opponent this season. The victory marked OU's first win over a ranked opponent in non-conference play since the Sooners topped then-No. 25 Gonzaga in 2014 and OU's first 20-point win over a ranked non-conference foe since a win over Kentucky in the Elite Eight in 2010.

•  Mandy Simpson had her first career double-double against LSU, making a statement with a career-high 18 points to go with 10 rebounds. In a season-high 37 minutes on the court, Simpson dished three assists and added a steal. The junior also went 4-for-5 from the charity stripe.

• Taylor Robertson has become the NCAA's active career leader in 3-point field goal percentage, shooting 48.8% (152-for-321), just nine games into her second season of college basketball. Robertson is the youngest member of the 10-player list; the nine other players are juniors and seniors.

• Robertson also sits atop the national rankings for both made 3s (49) and 3s per game (5.52) this season. She is averaging the most 3s per game of any player in women's and men's (4.44) Division I basketball as well as the leading NBA player in James Harden (Houston - 4.7 3PG)

• Three Big 12 players have had 30-point performances this season and two of them are Sooners. Ana Llanusa was the first league player to achieve the feat when she dropped 30 against Missouri State on Nov. 14, while Robertson recorded 30 at Wichita State on Nov. 30. Additionally, Llanusa and Robertson are averaging 19.22 points per game for the Sooners and are tied for second in scoring average in the Big 12.

RECAPPING A WIN OVER NO. 25 LSU

Robertson scored 21 points, Llanusa added 20 and Oklahoma won for the first time in the Big 12/SEC Challenge, drubbing No. 25 LSU 90-68 for OU's first win over a ranked opponent this season.

Simpson scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Sooners, who scored the last nine points of the first quarter to lead 23-16 and added a 14-0 run starting midway through the second quarter to lead 51-32 at the half. Simpson's 18 points were good for a career high.

Madi Williams had 13 points on 6-of-9 shooting for Oklahoma (5-4), which made 10 of 17 3-pointers and shot 55% for the game. Robertson and Llanusa both had four triples. Robertson, a sophomore who was 4 of 8, entered the game as the NCAA active career leader at 47.3% and was leading the nation with 43 3-pointers and a 5.38 average.

As a conference, the Big 12 won the Big 12/SEC Challenge by claiming eight of the 10 matchups. 2019 marked the first time a league won eight of the 10 matchups; the conferences had split the last three seasons. Three of the Big 12's eight wins were against opponents ranked in the Top 25, including OU's victory.

ROBERTSON NAMED BIG 2 PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Robertson earned her fifth career Big 12 weekly award Monday as she was named Big 12 Co-Player of the Week. Robertson shared the award with Texas Tech senior forward Brittany Brewer to garner the first conference award for the Sooners this season.

Robertson registered back-to-back 20-plus point performances last week, as she scored team-highs against Abilene Christian (21) and Wichita State (30). Against ACU, Robertson hit seven 3-pointers, going 7-for-12 (58.35) from beyond the arc, then followed that performance up with a career-high nine 3s at Wichita State to match a school record.

TOP TWO AND THEY'RE BOTH TWO

Both Llanusa and Robertson are averaging 19.22 points per game for the Sooners. Llanusa and Robertson are tied for second in scoring average in the Big 12 and lead the league in total points with 173 apiece.

Oklahoma is one of two schools in the conference to have two players averaging 15 points or more; Oklahoma State's Vivian Gray (18.78 PPG) and Natasha Mack (15.56 PPG) are the league's only other duo.

Additionally, Llanusa and Robertson are tied for 28th nationally in points per game, 27th in total points and ninth in total points among Power Five players.

Llanusa and Robertson are two of three Big 12 players to have 30-point outings this season, with Llanusa dropping 30 against Missouri State (Nov. 14) and Robertson scoring 30 at Wichita State (Nov. 30).

T-ROB TREY TRACKER

Sophomore guard Robertson has become the NCAA's active career leader in 3-point field goal percentage as she has shot 48.8% (152-for-321), just nine games into her second season of college basketball. Robertson is the youngest member of the 10-player list, which is comprised of juniors and seniors (including 2019 Wooden Award Winner Sabrina Ionescu of Oregon, a senior who ranks seventh on the list). Robertson is shooting 49.0% (43-for-88) from deep this season.

Robertson also sits atop the national rankings for both made 3s (49) and 3s per game (5.52) this season. She is averaging the most 3s per game of any player in men's or women's Division I basketball; Dru Kuxhausen of McNeese is the men's 3s per game leader and is averaging 4.44. Robertson is also averaging more 3s per game and a better 3-point field goal percentage (49.0%) than the leading NBA player; James Harden (Houston) accounts for 4.7 per game and is shooting 33.8% from deep.

Robertson leads the Big 12 in 3-pointers this season (47), almost double than the next closest player; Christianna Carr of Kansas State has hit 24).

As a team, OU has hit 81 3-pointers this season; Robertson accounts for more than half of those. Robertson has made more treys than 142 teams in DI women's basketball this season.
Of Robertson's 173 total points this season, 141 have come from behind the 3-point line (Robertson is 47-for-96 from deep this season). 14 have come from the charity stripe, where she is 14-for-17 (82.4%); just 18 of Robertson's points have been scored inside the arc.

Additionally, Robertson's nine made 3s at Wichita State (Nov. 30) tie for the most in a single game in women's Division I basketball this season and are one shy of the men's 2019-20 Division I single game record of 10.

SHOOTERS SHOOT

OU leads the Big 12 from beyond the arc, sitting atop the league's rankings for made 3s (81), 3-point field goal percentage (.386) and 3-point attempts (210). The Sooners lead the conference in made treys by 29; the next closest team is Kansas State with 52 on a .301 clip. Oklahoma is tied for 17th nationally in 3s per game with 9.0 and ranks fifth in the Power Five in the same category.

OU has the third-best scoring offense in the Big 12 as it averages 80.44 points per game. Baylor leads the conference with 86.00 and Texas Tech is second at 84.33. The Sooners are the only squad in the Big 12 to have players combine for 10 20-point performances this season: Robertson has had five; Llanusa, four; and Madi Williams, one.

PREVIEWING SAM HOUSTON STATE

The Bearkats enter Sunday's matchup at 4-3 on the year. In its last contest, SHSU earned its first road win of the year as it took down UTSA 81-77.

Six Bearkats found their way into double figures in scoring at UTSA, led by a season-high 20 points, six boards and five assists from senior guard Jenniffer Oramas. Courtney Cleveland chipped in 13; Rachel Harrell accounted for 12 off the bench; Amber Legget had 11; and Jaylon Walker and La'Sha Haynes scored 10 apiece.

Legett leads the Bearkats' scoring offense with 13.1 points per game and 6.4 rebounds per contest. Oramas is SHSU's other player averaging points in double figures with 12.0. Oramas, a senior, is just two points away from reaching 1,000 in her career.

OU leads the all-time series with SHSU 3-1. The last meeting between the teams was on Dec. 1, 2010, when OU blew past the Bearkats 94-45.

QUICK HITS

  • The Sooners will be tested early and often during their 14-game non-conference schedule. OU's non-conference slate features at least seven matchups with teams that appeared in the postseason a year ago including three NCAA Tournament teams (Abilene Christian, Drake and UConn).

  • OU is the only team in the Big 12 without a senior on its roster. The Sooners will be one of two league teams (Texas Tech) that will return three players who averaged at least 10.0 points per game. Llanusa (18.3), Robertson (14.3) and Williams (11.6) all averaged scoring in double figures during the 2018-19 season.

  • Assistant coach Stiles was inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame as a player in 2016 in the same class as head coach Coale. Oklahoma joins Connecticut as the only Division I women's basketball programs with two WBHOF inductees on their coaching staff.
