FIVE THINGS TO KNOW

• OU is set to host Stephen F. Austin Wednesday for the Sooners' annual field trip day, where over 6,000 local elementary school students will be in attendance. The game will tip at 11 a.m. inside Lloyd Noble Center and will be broadcast on Fox Sports Oklahoma.

•  The Sooners will look to avenge a loss in their last game, narrowly falling to Missouri State 96-90 on Nov. 14 in the Preseason WNIT semifinals. OU scored a program-record 37 points in the first quarter of the contest, but it was the Lady Bears who prevailed down the stretch.

• Ana Llanusa scored a season-high 30 points against Missouri State, marking her fifth career performance with 30 or more and her second consecutive 25+ showing this season. Llanusa shot 11-for-18 from the floor and was 6-for-11 from the free throw line. She added three assists and four steals in the contest.

• Llanusa was named to the Preseason WNIT's All-Tournament team after averaging a team-high 22.3 points per game while shooting 45.1% from the floor and 45.1% from behind the arc. Llanusa was 16-for-26 from the free throw line and totaled 13 steals – including a career-high eight against UAB

• OU leads the all-time series 5-4 and has a 3-1 edge in Norman. The Sooners have won the last five meetings with their most recent victory an 84-57 rout of the Lady Jacks on Dec. 8, 2010 in Norman.

SMOOTH CRIMINAL

With an average of 5.0 steals per game, Llanusa is tied for first nationally and leads the Power Five in the category. Llanusa tallied a career-high eight steals against UAB, which tie for seventh nationally for the most steals in a single game in Division I basketball this season. That figure is also the most by a Power Five player in a single game in 2019-20. Llanusa is tied for fourth nationally in total steals.

T-ROB TREYS

Sophomore Taylor Robertson picked up right where she left off last season, shooting 51.6% (16-for-31) from beyond the arc. As a freshman in 2018-19, Robertson led all Division I freshmen and ranked 12th nationally in 3-pointers made. The McPherson, Kan., product finished second in the country with 3.50 3-pointers per game. She was first among Division I freshmen in 3-point field goal percentage (.476) and finished the year ranked fifth overall.

Robertson leads all Big 12 players in made 3-pointers (16) and 3-point attempts (31). The next closest players have hit 11 3s (Kysre Gonderzick of West Virginia and Christianna Carr of Kansas State) and 11 attempts (Sydney Goodson, Texas Tech).

Robertson is climbing in the national rankings. The sophomore is tied 25th for 3-point attempts (31) and tied for fourth for made 3s (16).  Robertson is tied for first nationally in made 3s per game (5.33) with Loyola Chicago's Janae Gonzales, making her the Power Five leader in the category. Robertson also sits atop the national rankings for made 3s per game (5.33), tying with Loyola Chicago's Janae Gonzales to make Robertson the Power Five leader in the category. The sophomore is tied for fourth for made 3s (16) and tied 25th for 3-point attempts (31).

LLANUSA LLEADING THE WAY

Llanusa is averaging 22.3 points per game to lead both the Sooners and the Big 12 conference. A Preseason All-Big 12 selection, Llanusa is the first Big 12 player to have a 30-point performance this season after dropping 30 against Missouri State (11/14). She ranks first among Big 12 players in points per game (22.3) and total points (67). Llanusa tied for 17th nationally in points per game (22.3).

DOUBLE-DOUBLE MADI W

Sophomore Madi Williams had back-to-back double-doubles in OU's first two games of the 2019-20 season. Williams scored 14 points to go with 13 rebounds against Prairie View A&M (Nov. 8) before a 24-point, 13-rebound showing against two days later against UAB (Nov. 10). Williams was OU's last player to record consecutive double-doubles as she achieved the feat last season. Williams logged 20 points and 10 rebounds at SMU (Dec. 22, 2018) and posted 10 points and 11 rebounds against Texas Tech at home (Jan. 2, 2019).

Additionally, Williams' 24 points in the win over UAB were good for a career high for the sophomore. Williams' previous best mark was 22, set last season against the Blazers in Bimini, Bahamas (Nov. 22, 2018).

WHAT'S BACK

OU returns nine letterwinners from last year's squad and bring back 82.2 percent of its scoring from last year's team - the highest percentage of any team in the Big 12 heading into the 2019-20 season. Key starters Tatum Veitenheimer, Robertson, Williams, Llanusa and Mandy Simpson are all back, and the Sooners will be one of two Big 12 teams (Texas Tech) that will return three players who averaged at least 10.0 points per game. Llanusa (18.3),  (14.3) and Williams (11.6) all averaged scoring in double figures during the 2018-19 season.

Veitenheimer, Robertson and Williams all made immediate impact as freshmen in 2018-19. Robertson saw the most minutes of any Sooner (1013, 33.8 per game) and along with Williams, started 29 of 30 contests. Veitenheimer saw action in all 30 games last season with 16 starts and her 76 assists were the fifth-most by an OU freshman in a single season.

Robertson averaged 14.3 points per game during her freshman season, knocking down an OU freshman record 105 3-pointers and finishing with a .467 clip from beyond the arc. The Big 12 All-Freshman selection ranked second nationally in 3-point field goal percentage and finished fifth in Division I with 3.50 3-pointers made per game. Robertson's 105 3-pointers in 2018-19 marked the second-most made in one season by a Sooner. She also posted an .889 free throw percentage, the third-best mark in OU single-season history.

Llanusa enters the season as a Preseason All-Big 12 selection after averaging a team-high 18.3 points per game and shooting .382 from the field last year. Despite missing 10 contests due to injury, Llanusa averaged 19.1 points per game during Big 12 play last season, which ranked third in the league. Her conference-game scoring average is the sixth-best by a Sooner since OU joined the Big 12.

The Choctaw, Okla., native scored 30 points three times against Big 12 foes in 2018-19, including a career-high 35 points at Iowa State on Jan. 19. Llanusa set a school record with six straight 20-point scoring performances down the stretch in Big 12 play.

PREVIEWING STEPHEN F. AUSTIN

The Lady Jacks enter Wednesday's game with a 2-1 mark. All three of SFA's contests have been decided by a margin of six points or fewer: the Lady Jacks defeated Tulsa 67-63 and Alcorn State 67-62 before falling to UCF 63-57. Sophomore guard Stephanie Visscher had 19 points against UCF to match her season high, while Marissa Banfield and Kennedy Harris chipped in 11 apiece. SFA knocked down eight 3-points, but ultimately fell to the Knights as UCF went on a 7-2 run to close out the game. Visscher leads the Lady Jacks with an average of 15.0 points per game and ranks second on the team with 7.7 rebounds per game. She averages a team-high 35 minutes and has shot 51.4% from the floor this season.

OU is 5-4 all-time against Stephen F. Austin and has won the last five meetings consecutively. All five of those victories have come by a margin of 20 points or greater.

QUICK HITS

  • 2019 marks the sixth consecutive year the Sooners have hosted Field Trip Day. OU is 4-1 in those contests with double-digit margins of victory in all four of its wins.
  • The Sooners will be tested early and often during their 14-game non-conference schedule. OU's non-conference slate features at least seven matchups with teams that appeared in the postseason a year ago including three NCAA Tournament teams (Abilene Christian, Drake and UConn).
  • OU is the only team in the Big 12 without a senior on its roster. The Sooners will be one of two league teams (Texas Tech) that will return three players who averaged at least 10.0 points per game. Llanusa (18.3), Robertson (14.3) and Williams (11.6) all averaged scoring in double figures during the 2018-19 season.
  • Assistant coach Stiles was inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame as a player in 2016 in the same class as head coach Coale. Oklahoma joins Connecticut as the only Division I women's basketball programs with two WBHOF inductees on their coaching staff.
