WACO, Texas – The Oklahoma volleyball team dropped its first contest in four matches as it fell to No. 1 Baylor 3-0 Wednesday in Waco.
The Sooners move to 10-4 (2-1 Big 12) on the season while Baylor remains undefeated at 12-0 (2-0 Big 12).
The Bears outhit OU .301-.011 on the contest.
Ashlynn Dunbar and
Sarah Sanders tallied six kills apiece while
Brianna Kadiku added four. Setter
Kylee McLaughlin registered 20 assists in the match as OU had 23 kills.
Defensively, the Sooners posted 5.0 total blocks to Baylor's 6.5.
Paige Anderson led the charge at the net with three blocks to her name while Sanders, Kadiku and McLaughlin chipped in two each.
Keyton Kinley recorded seven digs and
Paige Johnson added six.
In the first set, the Sooners tied the Bears at 12-all before Baylor went on a 6-1 run to gain separation. Baylor took the opening stanza 25-16.
OU rallied late in the second set, but came up short as the Bears used a four-point scoring run to close out the frame 25-19. The Bears completed the sweep with a 25-12 win in the final set.
