NORMAN — Oklahoma senior Baker Mayfield was named the Manning Award Quarterback of the Week on Thursday.

Mayfield accounted for five touchdowns (four passing), completed 22-of-34 passes for 281 yards and ran for an additional 20 yards in Saturday's 49-27 Homecoming victory against Texas Tech.

Wednesday's announcement marks the second time this season and fourth time in his career that Mayfield has received the honor.

Mayfield leads all Power Five quarterbacks and ranks second nationally in completion percentage (.725), passing efficiency rating (195.6) and yards per pass attempt (11.14). He's accounted for 27 touchdowns and just three turnovers while throwing for 2,628 yards and rushing for 190 more.

The 2017 Manning Award will announce its 10 finalists on Nov. 30, and the winner is scheduled to be announced following the College Football Playoff National Championship.

No. 5 in this week's College Football Playoff rankings, Oklahoma returns to action Saturday at No. 11 Oklahoma State. Kickoff is slated for 3 p.m. CT on FS1.
