NORMAN - The 2016 Tire Pros Puerto Rico Tip-Off men's basketball tournament will move its site to ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, Fla. Previously held at the Coliseo Roberto Clemente in San Juan, Puerto Rico, the tournament has been moved due to concerns over the Zika virus.

Oklahoma is one of eight teams competing in the early-season tournament, which will take place Nov. 17-20. The tournament field will remain as originally announced with the Sooners being joined by Arizona State, Clemson, Davidson, Missouri, Northern Iowa, Tulane and Xavier.

“We enjoy the beauty and accommodations that are afford in Puerto Rico and wanted to make every effort in playing the event in San Juan, but the concern for student-athlete and spectator welfare became the primary driver in the decision,” said Pete Derzis, senior vice president at ESPN Events. “We intend to return to Puerto Rico in the future.”

The Sooners open play in the tournament against Tulane at 6 p.m. CT on ESPN2 or ESPNU. All 12 games of the event will be televised on an ESPN network.

OU previously competed at the Wide World of Sports Complex in 2012 as part of the Old Spice Classic, posting a 2-1 record with wins over UTEP and West Virginia.
