NORMAN — The University of Oklahoma and Temple University announced an agreement Wednesday to play a three-game football series starting in 2024.

The series will begin Aug. 31, 2024, in Norman with a return game Sept. 13, 2025, in Philadelphia. The third game will be played Sept. 2, 2028, in Norman.

The Sooners and Owls have met twice, with OU posting a 9-6 home victory in the 1940 season and Temple winning 14-7 in 1942.

Temple is coming off a 10-4 season that constituted the program's most wins since 1979. The Owls went 7-1 to win the American Athletic Conference's East Division before losing at Houston in the league's championship game. Temple lost 32-17 to Toledo in the Boca Raton Bowl.

The Sooners went 11-2 last season and won their ninth Big 12 title. OU also became the first Big 12 team to participate in the College Football Playoff.
