The 2016 Olympic Games

Eight former Sooners and men's gymnastics head coach Mark Williams will represent OU at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The men's gymnastics competition will begin with qualifying on Friday, Aug. 5, and conclude with the all-around finals on Aug. 10. Oklahoma track & field athletes will be in action Monday, Aug. 15 through Thursday, Aug. 18.

OU's History in the Olympics

A total of 75 Sooners from nine different countries have represented OU at the Olympics. Oklahoma has had at least one representative in each of the last 20 Summer Games.

Sooners have collected a total of 23 medals all-time, including 13 golds. Bart Conner (men's gym), Dave & Mark Schultz (wrestling) and Wayman Tisdale (men's basketball) combined to win a total of five gold medals in 1984.
