NORMAN – Sophomore Paige Parker struck out a season-high 12 batters as No. 13/14 Oklahoma (26-7, 3-1 Big 12) captured a series victory over Kansas (20-13, 1-2) with a 4-0 win Sunday at Marita Hynes Field.

Parker's 12 strikeouts were one better than the 11 she had in a no-hitter over BYU on March 11 and one off her career high of 13 set at Texas Tech last season on March 27. It was her fifth career game with at least 10 K's; she struck out two batters in each of the first six innings Sunday.

In fact, after allowing the first three batters of the game to reach on two walks and a single, Parker completely shut down the Kansas lineup, retiring the next 17 batters she faced until a two-out single in the sixth inning.

It was her sixth shutout of the season and No. 15 in her career as she gave up just two hits and two walks to run her record to 13-3 this year.

Seven different Sooners had a hit, led by senior Erin Miller's 2-4 day at the plate. It was her team-leading 16th multi-hit game of the year.

After splitting the first two games of the weekend, OU remained unbeaten in its last 11 series against Kansas with Sunday's win, going 8-0-3 in that span. In addition, Oklahoma has now won 15 straight Big 12 games after a loss in league play, not losing back-to-back conference games since the 2011 season.

The Sooners jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second inning.

Parker helped her own cause with a one-out single up the middle. Fellow sophomore Nicole Pendley batted next and reached on an error as her chopper got past KU second baseman Taylor McElhaney. Sophomore Kelsey Arnold then loaded the bases with a bunt single.

Miller stepped in after Arnold and hit a fly ball to shallow center field on an 0-1 count, landing it safely between a trio of Kansas defenders to drive in Parker. Freshman Sydney Romero extended the lead to 2-0 when she reached on a fielder's choice groundout to short, enabling Pendley to score an unearned run.

The lead doubled to 4-0 thanks a to a two-run third inning.

With one out, senior Kady Self pulled a double down the left field line. On a 2-0 pitch to senior Tori Nirschl in the next at-bat she drilled a line drive to center field that hit the very top of the wall. It was nearly her first home run of the season, but instead she had to settle for an RBI single as Self scored from second.

That prompted a pitching change as Saturday's winner, Alexis Reid, replaced Andie Formby. Lasting 2.1 innings, it was just the third time this season that Formby, a three-time Big 12 Pitcher of the Week, failed to make it through 4.0 innings in a start.

Reid got a pop out for the second out of the inning, but Pendley drew a walk to keep the inning alive. With two on, junior Macey Hatfield entered as a pinch hitter and singled up the middle to plate Nirschl from second to extend OU's lead to 4-0.

Oklahoma steps out of conference play this week as it hosts Wichita State Wednesday night at 6 p.m. before traveling to No. 19/19 Baylor this weekend for a pivotal matchup with the Bears.
