Erin Miller was 1-3 to extend her hitting streak to a career best 13 games ... Macey Hatfield's two hits were a season high ... KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Freshman Jayden Chestnut struck out a career-high 12 batters as No. 9/9 Oklahoma (38-7) finished unbeaten on the weekend at the Tennessee Classic and ran its win streak to 13 games with a 2-0 win over Lipscomb (24-23).

Not only did OU go unbeaten on the weekend, it didn't give up a run as the Sooners outscored the opposition 20-0 in three games. The three consecutive shutouts are the most by OU this year and the longest streak for the program since recording three in a row from May 2-15 last season.

The 13-game winning streak is the longest for Oklahoma since winning 14 in a row from Feb. 21 to March 17 last season. During the current stretch, OU has a slash line (AVG/OBP/SLG) of .332/.416/.485 compared to a .186/.246/.237 line for opponents. In addition, the staff ERA is 1.19 while the opposition has posted a 5.49 mark.

While the two-run total was the lowest mark since a 5-2 loss to Kansas on April 2 that preceded the current win streak, it was more than enough run support for Chestnut.

Her 12 strikeouts doubled her previous mark of six against Fresno State on Feb. 26. The total also tied for the most by an OU pitcher this season as Paige Parker had 12 against Kansas on April 3.

Making just the third start of her career, Chestnut gave up just three hits and did not walk a batter as she threw her second career complete game and her second career shutout. Her record is now 7-0 on the year, while her earned run average was lowered to 2.90. In fact, in her three starts Chestnut has allowed just two earned runs in 17.0 innings for a 0.82 ERA.

She retired the first six batters she faced. Then, after giving up a leadoff single in the third, retired the next 11 batters in a row. During that stretch, she had five consecutive strikeouts.

After three scoreless innings, the Sooners' offense finally broke through in the fourth.

With one out, sophomore Lea Wodach reached safely on an infield single and senior Kady Self followed with soft line drive to shallow center. After a popout, both runners moved up thanks to a wild pitch. That would prove costly as sophomore Kelsey Arnold placed a single into shallow left field, scoring Wodach from third.

OU then added an insurance run in the sixth.

With one out, Wodach and Self drew consecutive walks. Junior Macey Hatfield, who was making her second career start at third base, picked up her second hit of the day when she delivered an RBI single to center field.

Two other streaks continued in the game as senior Erin Miller hit a leadoff single to run her hitting streak to a career-best 13 games, while freshman Caleigh Clifton was hit by a pitch to extend her on-base streak to 19 games. That's the longest on-base streak by a Sooners player this year.

Oklahoma does not have a midweek game this week, so it's next contest comes next weekend at Iowa State. Friday's series opener begins at 4 p.m.
