FULLERTON, Calif. – A pair of sophomores led No. 13/14 Oklahoma (21-6) to a 4-2 win over No. 23/25 Nebraska (17-9) Sunday afternoon in the Sooners' final game at the Easton Tournament in Fullerton, Calif.

Sophomore Nicole Pendley drove in three of Oklahoma's four runs, while fellow sophomore Paige Parker pitched 7.0 shutout innings in relief as OU improved to 4-4 on the season against top-25 teams. After losing its first three games against ranked teams, the Sooners have won four of their past five such games.

The matchup was the sixth between Oklahoma and Nebraska since the Cornhuskers left the Big 12 for the Big Ten after the 2011 season. OU has now won four of those six meetings.

The game also marked the second time this season that an OU player faced her sister. Earlier this year, Sydney Romero faced Sierra Romero and Michigan, while Sunday it was freshman Shay Knighten taking on her sister, MJ.

Each player scored a run in the game as Shay doubled and scored in three at-bats, while MJ was 0-1 with a walk and hit by pitch.

Nebraska took advantage of erratic pitching early on to score twice without recording a hit.

Kiki Stokes led off with a walk, and MJ Knighten was hit by a pitch in the next at-bat against OU starter Kelsey Stevens. A wild pitch moved both into scoring position before Stevens was pulled for Parker. The next three outs came quickly, but one was a sacrifice fly and a sacrifice bunt, allowing Stokes and Knighten to score.

Oklahoma answered those two runs with two of their own in the bottom of the second.

Shay Knighten got OU's first hit of the game when she hit a leadoff double to left center. Two batters later, fellow freshman Caleigh Clifton was hit by a pitch on a 1-1 count. A groundout from Parker then moved both into scoring position.

Pendley batted next and she sent a ground ball to Alicia Armstrong at shortstop. With Clifton moving toward third on the play, she avoided Armstrong who was trying to field the ball, but the distraction was enough to cause the ball to get past Armstrong. Knighten and Clifton scored, knotting the game at 2-2.

The next three innings passed without a run being scored, though Nebraska threatened with two runners on in the third and single in the fourth. All three runners were stranded.

Oklahoma also had a chance in the third as it loaded the bases with two out, but Clifton's sinking liner to center field was caught by Stokes. Additionally, OU put runners on second and third with no one out in the fifth, but a groundout, strikeout and another groundout kept the game at 2-2.

Parker actually allowed just one baserunner over the final three innings, a lone single to Mattie Fowler in the sixth. Fowler had both of the Husker hits.

The Sooners finally broke the tie in the bottom of the sixth with Pendley coming through again.

Clifton led off with a double to left field and moved to third when freshman pinch hitter Fale Aviu singled to right field. Aviu stole second before Pendley sent a sacrifice fly to left field, bringing home Clifton with the eventual game-winning run. Later in the inning, senior Erin Miller blooped a single to shallow center, which allowed Aviu to score an insurance run.

Oklahoma's next games come next weekend with two contests against UMKC. Friday's game will be played at Marita Hynes Field at 6 p.m. CT, while Saturday's contest will be played at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City at 2:30 p.m.
