NORMAN (AP) — Christian James scored a team-high 17 points in just 22 minutes, and Jordan Woodard added 15 points as Oklahoma overcame a sluggish start to cruise past Oral Roberts, 92-66, on Wednesday night.

Oklahoma needed a strong performance following a 20-point loss to Wisconsin Saturday, and forced its in-state counterpart in the wrong direction.

"The bounce back was good," Oklahoma coach Lon Kruger said. "We had two good days of practice Monday and Tuesday. The guys transferred that into the game tonight."

Woodard, James and Rashard Odomes scored 28 of their combined 44 points in the second half.

Oklahoma (6-2) shot 51.6 percent from the field, recorded 16 steals and forced Oral Roberts into 20 turnovers.

"That was bad basketball on our part," said Oral Roberts coach Scott Sutton, whose team lost to Michigan State by four points Saturday. "I give them credit. They made us look bad. I was disappointed in how we played. We took a couple steps backward. . I really thought our guys would come in here and play much better. We just didn't handle the situation, didn't handle the pressure."

Kris Martin and Jalen Bradley each had 19 points to lead Oral Roberts but were the only players in double figures for the Golden Eagles (1-8), who scored the first two points of the game but trailed the rest of the way. Kristian Doolittle and Khadeem Lattin each added nine points and four rebounds. Matt Freeman and Jordan Shepherd scored nine points apiece off the bench, which totaled 39 points.
