EL PASO, Texas – The University of Oklahoma volleyball team capped off the Borderland Invitational with a 3-0 win over UTEP on Saturday afternoon. The Sooners' fourth straight win pushed their record over .500 to 5-4, while the Miners dropped to 4-6.
Oklahoma's third sweep of the season came by scores of 25-23, 25-17 and 25-14.
Three Sooners finished the match in double figures in kills. Senior outside hitter Kierra Holst (Coppell, Texas) and junior outside hitter Kimmy Gardiner (Grapevine, Texas) led the way with 12 kills, apiece. Freshman outside hitter Alyssa Enneking (League City, Texas), making her third straight start, tallied 10 kills and hit .333 with 10 digs for her first career double-double.
Sophomore middle blocker Marion Hazelwood (Beach City, Texas) hit a team-best .571 on eight kills and no errors to go with six blocks. Junior middle blocker Micaela Spann (Carrollton, Texas) hit .545 and added six kills without an error.
Senior setter Julia Doyle (Plymouth, Minn.) led the Sooner attack with 25 assists to go with nine digs, while freshman Audrey Alford (Norman, Okla.) added 15 assists and seven digs. Senior libero Taylor Migliazzo (Kansas City, Mo.) registered her second 20-plus dig match of the season with 22.
Coline Coessens led UTEP with 10 kills along with eight digs.
Oklahoma is back at home next week for the OU Invitational. The Sooners take on Pac-12 opponents USC and Washington as well as Maryland out of the Big Ten.
