OU-Akron Football Game Sold Out
August 31, 2015 | Football
NORMAN — The University of Oklahoma Athletics Department announced Monday that the football team's season-opening game against Akron on Saturday is sold out. It marks the program's 99th consecutive sellout, a string that started with the first game of the Bob Stoops era in 1999 against Indiana State.
Attendance during the first 98 games of the home sellout streak at Gaylord Family - Oklahoma Memorial Stadium is more than eight million (average of 82,329). The Sooners own a 90-8 (.918) record in those games and have outscored their opponents 4,090-1,504 (41.7-15.3 average). Included were a school record 39-game home winning streak and a pair of 19-game strings.
A limited number of single-game tickets (returned by visiting teams) are still available for the remainder of OU's 2015 home schedule. Fans can purchase those here or by calling (800) 456-4668.
The OU-Akron game is being televised on a pay-per-view basis. Click here for more information.
