Oklahoma vs. Iowa State

• No. 17 Oklahoma came back from a 10-point first-half deficit to lead by 20 (88-68) in the second half of a 94-83 win over No. 14 Iowa State at Lloyd Noble Center. It was OU's fifth straight win and moved the Sooners (17-7, 8-4) into sole possession of second place in the Big 12, a half game ahead of the Cyclones (17-6, 7-4).
• Tonight's game marked OU's nation-leading 11th against an AP Top-25 team (at the time of competition). The Sooners are now 6-5 against ranked opponents.
• OU trailed 42-32 with 5 minutes left in the first half as Iowa State made nine of its first 12 3-point attempts, but finished the half on a 14-4 run to tie the game at 46. The Sooners scored the first six of the second half and never trailed afterward.
• Senior forward TaShawn Thomas led five Sooners in double figures with 22 points on 11-for-18 field goal shooting. He tied season highs with 11 rebounds (third double-double of year) and 5 assists and added 3 blocks and a steal. His 11 field goals also matched a season high.
• Junior forward Ryan Spangler also recorded a double-double (seventh of season and second straight against Iowa State in Norman) with 14 points and 12 boards. He was 6 for 10 from the field and added a pair of assists. He has led OU in rebounding in 15 of 24 games.
• Junior guard Isaiah Cousins scored 19 points (his most since the Big 12 opener against Baylor) with the help of 3-for-4 3-point shooting and had 4 assists without a turnover. Cousins is now shooting .535 from 3-point range at Lloyd Noble Center this season. Over the last three home games, he has 12 assists and no turnovers.
• Junior guard Buddy Hield made three more 3-pointers and scored 17 points while adding 2 assists and 2 steals. He has scored in double figures in every Big 12 game this season. Hield passed Brent Price to move into 28th place on OU's all-time scoring list (1,178 points).
• Sophomore guard Frank Booker came off the bench to score a season-high 14 points (one shy of career high) with the help of four 3-pointers on six attempts in 16 minutes. It was just his second game in double figures this year (11 points vs. UCLA on Nov. 26).
• OU posted a 16-9 advantage in points off turnovers, the 14th time in the last 17 games and 19th time in 24 games overall it has outscored its opponent in the category. In 12 games at Lloyd Noble Center this year, the Sooners own a 248-105 advantage in points off turnovers.
• OU shot the ball a season-high 77 times from the field but still managed to commit just 7 turnovers, its fewest in Big 12 play.
• The Sooners held Iowa State junior forward Georges Niang to 7 points on 3-for-9 shooting. Niang entered the game ranked fourth in the Big 12 in scoring at 15.2 points a contest.
• OU now holds a 113-82 all-time lead against Iowa State and is 63-22 against the Cyclones in Norman. The Sooners have won 10 of the last 11 meetings at Lloyd Noble Center and 24 of the last 28.
• The Sooners are back in action Saturday at Kansas State (7 p.m. on ESPN2).
