Postgame Notes
Oklahoma vs. TCU
Feb. 28, 2015

• Down 36-28 at halftime, No. 16/17 Oklahoma outscored TCU 39-24 in the second half to register its eighth win in the last nine games and to reach the 20-win plateau for the third straight season and 29th time in school history.

• Junior guard Buddy Hield registered game highs of 21 points and 13 rebounds for his fourth career double-double (third this season and second against TCU in three weeks). His 13 boards represented a career high. With his mom, who lives in the Bahamas, in attendance for the first time at Lloyd Noble Center, Hield was 6 for 11 from the field, 3 for 6 from 3-point range and 6 for 7 from the free throw line. On Feb. 7 in Fort Worth, Hield registered 16 points and 10 rebounds against the Horned Frogs.

• Senior forward TaShawn Thomas scored 11 of his 15 points in the second half and added 8 rebounds and 2 blocks on the afternoon. He was 5 for 9 from the field and 5 for 7 from the foul line.

• Juniors Isaiah Cousins and Ryan Spangler each finished with 10 points. Cousins played 34 minutes without a turnover while Spangler, the Big 12's leader in field goal percentage, was 5 for 8 from the floor with 3 assists. Spangler was held to 1 rebound, his fewest as a Sooner.

• Sophomore guard Jordan Woodard scored 8 points and added 7 assists, his most in 19 games. Woodard was 6 for 6 from the foul line (he entered the game ranked third in the Big 12 with his .836 season free throw mark).

• For the first time in eight games and for just the fourth time in the last 21 contests, Oklahoma was outscored off turnovers. TCU posted a 13-12 advantage in the category today. The Sooners entered the game outscoring their opponents 266-111 at Lloyd Noble Center this season.

• After winning 16 of its first 17 games by double digits, Oklahoma has won each of its last three contests by single digits.

• OU has started the same lineup in every game this season (Woodard, Cousins, Hield, Spangler, Thomas). Entering the weekend, only six other schools (none in the “Power 5” conferences) could make that claim.

• The Sooners entered the game leading the Big 12 with their .731 season free throw percentage, but shot just .667 today (18 for 27).

• Oklahoma improved to 16-2 all-time against TCU and to 8-0 against the Horned Frogs in Norman.

• OU plays at No. 12/13 Iowa State on Monday at 8 p.m. CT before finishing the regular season against No. 8/9 Kansas at home next Saturday.
