Oklahoma at Tulsa

• Playing its first game in more than a week, No. 16/15 Oklahoma (6-2) posted an 87-68 road win over Tulsa (5-5) at the Reynolds Center. Up by 11 at halftime, OU increased its lead to as many as 25 (74-49) just past the midway point of the second half.
• The Sooners were opportunistic all game, outscoring Tulsa 24-11 in second-chance points (both teams had 12 offensive rebounds) and 12-3 off turnovers (OU had 10 turnovers to TU's 13).
• OU turned in its second straight solid shooting effort, posting a .469 figure from the field. OU was 8 for 25 (.320) from 3-point range and 19 for 24 (.792) at the free throw line.
• First-year Sooner TaShawn Thomas scored 25 points, his most in an OU uniform, on 9-for-12 field goal and 7-for-8 free throw shooting. The senior transfer from Houston added five rebounds, two assists and three steals in 34 minutes. In his last game at Tulsa two seasons ago with the Cougars, Thomas finished with 31 points, 15 rebounds, three assists, three steals and three blocks in a triple-overtime contest.
• Junior guard Isaiah Cousins drained a career-high five 3-pointers on eight attempts and registered 21 points, a game-high eight rebounds and two steals. Cousins is 8 for 11 (.727) from 3-point range the last two games and is shooting .444 on the year from deep (16 for 36). He is the Big 12's second-leading rebounder among guards (6.5 rpg).
• With OU's win, sophomore guard Jordan Woodard got the best of his brother (TU junior guard James Woodard) for the second straight year. Jordan Woodard finished with six points and a game-high nine assists while committing just one turnover. He was 4 for 4 from the free throw line and is now 23 for 24 (.958) from the charity stripe over the last five games.
• Junior forward Ryan Spangler battled foul trouble most of the day and played a season-low 19 minutes (previous season low was 25). He made three of his five field goal attempts but was held to seven points and four rebounds.
• Tulsa became the first team in eight games to score more points against OU than it was averaging going into competition. Tulsa scored 68 today (was averaging 64.9 entering the day).
• OU's win was its 14th in the last 15 meetings against Tulsa. The Sooners improved to 30-11 all-time against the Golden Hurricane and to 9-5 against TU in Tulsa (2-0 at the Reynolds Center).
• The Sooners play another opponent from Tulsa when they host Oral Roberts on Tuesday at 6 p.m. CT. The game will be televised by ESPNU.
