Postgame Notes
Oklahoma vs. Oklahoma State
Jan. 27, 2014

• In the 225th meeting between Oklahoma and Oklahoma State, No. 23 OU beat No. 8 OSU 88-76 to improve to 17-4 overall and 6-2 in the Big 12 (sole possession of second place behind 6-0 Kansas).  OSU fell to 16-4 and 4-3.

• The win was OU's 10th straight at home over Oklahoma State and 13th in the last 14 such meetings.  The Sooners now lead the overall series 130-95 and improved to 82-26 against OSU in Norman.  They are 20-18 against the Cowboys since the start of the Big 12 Conference (12-7 in the last 19 games).

• OU's victory was its third against a team ranked in the top 12 of the AP poll in the last six games.  The Sooners beat then-No. 9 Iowa State 87-82 on Jan. 11 and won at then-No. 12 Baylor 66-64 on Jan. 18.

• OU is now 3-1 in its last four games against AP top-10 opponents (beat the aforementioned Iowa State this season as well as No. 5 Kansas last year, and lost to No. 1 Michigan State earlier this season).

• Oklahoma natives Jordan Woodard (team-high 18), Ryan Spangler (15) and Tyler Neal (15) combined for 48 points in a winning effort for the Sooners.

• Woodard scored 17 of his 18 after halftime and added four rebounds and two steals in his first Bedlam contest.  The freshman guard went 3-for-4 from 3-point range and is 6-for-7 from long distance over the last two games.  He was 9-for-13 from the free throw line and leads the Big 12 in both makes and attempts on the year.

• Spangler pulled down a career-high 17 rebounds in his first Bedlam experience to go along with his 15 points in only 25 minutes.  The double-double was the sophomore forward's Big 12-leading ninth of the year.  It was his fourth game of at least 14 rebounds in the last six contests.

• Neal's 15 points were a season high (second-highest career total) and marked his sixth double-digit scoring game of the year after registering none last season.  The senior forward was 5-for-6 from the field and made all three of his 3-pointers while adding three rebounds.

• Sophomore forward Buddy Hield scored 11 points while recording game highs of four assists and three steals.  Hield has scored in double figures in 20 of 21 games this season.

• Oklahoma's bench outscored OSU's 30-24.  It was OU's third-highest bench total of the season and highest since the third game of the year.

• OU shot just .714 from the free throw line (were shooting .790 in Big 12 play entering the game), but its 42 attempts were its second most of the season and most in conference action.

• OSU's Marcus Smart scored a game-high 22 points on 6-for-18 shooting while high school teammate Phil Forte scored 20 on 7-for-9 shooting (6-for-6 from 3-point range).

• Oklahoma is back in action on Saturday when it plays at No. 16/18 Iowa State at 3 p.m. CT (televised by Big 12 Network).
