Sooners Tour City of Bruges, Belgium

GHENT, Belgium -- After winning its first exhibition game over the Ghent Hawks last night, the Oklahoma men's basketball team awoke and headed to tour the city of Bruges, Belgium, on Friday morning.

In the northwest part of the country about 10 miles south of the North Sea and approximately 30 miles northwest of team headquarters in Ghent, Bruges (pronounced Broozh) is the capital and largest city of the province of West Flanders.

The Sooners spent two-and-a-half hours touring Bruges' historic city centre by foot, taking in the many cultural offerings and scenic views. The area, home to about 25,000 inhabitants, features quaint stone streets, intriguing architecture, monumental cathedrals, canal upon canal, street performers and a seemingly endless array of shops and restaurants. Special thanks to Theo, the team's tour guide the last two days.

Following an hour-long lunch, players, staff and OU supporters returned to Ghent to rest up for this evening's game against Waragem. Tip time is set for 8:30 p.m. local time, or 1:30 p.m. CT.
