The countdown to the 2013 soccer season continues today, with only 17 days left until the Sooners open the year on the road at Tennessee on August 23. The full schedule is available on the soccer page at SoonerSports.com

With the 2013 season fast approaching, SoonerSports.com will highlight each of the players on the 2013 squad. Each post will help fans get to know the Sooners better before watching them on the field this fall.

The seventh edition of the Countdown features defender/forward Madison Saliba of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Elise Romano.

3. Biggest influence on your life ... That would be my mom. She is the strongest and most inspiring person I know.

4. Strengths ... I try to be as compassionate and optimistic as I can.

5. Weaknesses ... I can be too defensive and impatient.

6. Favorite Candy ... Reese's and anything sour!

7. Do you have any heroes?
My parents and sisters.

8. Do you have any hobbies, if so, please list them ...
My faith, spending time with friends and family, and crafting.

Cameron Diaz, my grandma and my Uncle Kurt.

13. Tell us something that we don't know about you?
I used to be a gymnast.

Madison Saliba Bio Brief
Saliba helped lead Broken Arrow H.S. to back-to-back state semifinal appearances in Oklahoma. As a member of the Tulsa Hurricane Soccer Club, Saliba's aided her team to a U.S. Youth Soccer National Championship appearance and a Region III title in 2011.
