The countdown to the 2013 soccer season continues today, with only 23 days left until the Sooners open the year on the road at Tennessee on August 23. The full schedule is available on the soccer page at SoonerSports.com

With the 2013 season fast approaching, SoonerSports.com will highlight each of the players on the 2013 squad. Each post will help fans get to know the Sooners better before watching them on the field this fall.

The seventh edition of the Countdown features sophomore forward Devin Barrett of Corona, Calif., and Katie Sheinfeld.

2. Biggest Compliment given ... I have a great smile.

3. Biggest influence on your life ... My grandmother, because she immigrated here from Cuba and came with nothing but the clothes on her back. She has always taught me to be grateful for what I have and not to be afraid of going after what I truly want.

4. Strengths ... My ability to persuade people.

5. Weaknesses ... Sometimes I can be too opinionated.

6. Favorite Candy ... Gum

7. Do you have any heroes?
Both of my parents.

8. Do you have any hobbies, if so, please list them ...
Reading and going to the beach.

I have or at some point have had almost every single color of Vans shoes.

Devin Barrett Bio Brief
Barrett appeared in seven games as a freshman at OU last season, including the Sooners' home opener against LSU. She was a three-time Orange County Player to Watch at Mater Dei H.S. and helped her team to a pair of conference titles in 2009 and 2010.

What teams do you support?
L.A. Lakers, Barcelona

I play a bit like...
You know, I love to think I can bend it like Beckham or shoot just as well as Rooney and can do moves just was well as Cristiano Ronaldo, but obviously that is me being a tad cocky!
All jokes aside, I really cannot identify with just one player. I like to think that by just watching the game I can pick up qualities from many great players out there.

What is your best highlight moment? Your dream highlight moment?
Scoring a goal fo rmy team to make it to the ECNL championships in our last tournament together.
