The countdown to the 2013 soccer season continues today, with only one month left until the Sooners open the year on the road at Tennessee on August 23. The full schedule is available on the soccer page at SoonerSports.com

With the 2013 season fast approaching, SoonerSports.com will highlight each of the players on the 2013 squad. Each post will help fans get to know the Sooners better before watching them on the field this fall.

The fifth edition of the Countdown features forward Caren Nelson of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Shiloh Price.

1. Nickname ... Just Caren!

2. Biggest Compliment given ... "I hope my children come to grow up just like you."

3. Biggest influence on your life ... My parents. They have always believed in me and pushed me to become the best I can be.

4. Strengths ... Striking the ball, scoring goals, dribbling and connecting passes.

5. Weaknesses ... At times, decision making, not being patient and getting frustrated with myself.

6. Favorite Candy ... Three Musketeers for sure!

7. Do you have any heroes?
I have so many people who I am blessed to have in my life. I can't pick just one!

8. Do you have any hobbies, if so, please list them ...
I love to mountain bike and rock climb back in Colorado.

9. Name three people (famous, relatives, friends) you would invite to dinner?
Tim Tebow, Oprah and Ellen DeGeneres. They all have had such big impacts on so many lives that it would be an incredible experience to meet them.

10. What is the last song downloaded on your IPod?
"Here's to Never Growing Up," Avril Lavigne. That song is my jam.

11. Favorite Movie ..."Pitch Perfect," "The Blind Side" or any Harry Potter movie

12. Favorite TV show ...Duck Dynasty, Dance Moms and Grey's Anatomy

13. Tell us something that we don't know about you?
I'm an only child.

14. Describe yourself in five words ... Dedicated, caring, goofy, tenacious, persistent.

15. In five years, I will be ... hopefully continuing to play soccer and starting the journey to becoming a physical therapist.

Caren Nelson Bio Brief:
A standout competitor at Air Academy H.S., Nelson captained her high school to a 4A state title in 2012. She also earned first team All-State and All-League honors that season. Nelson was a National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society member in high school while carrying a GPA over 4.0.
