The countdown to the 2013 soccer season continues today, with only 37 days left until the Sooners open the year on the road at Tennessee on August 23. The full schedule is available on the soccer page at SoonerSports.com

With the 2013 season fast approaching, SoonerSports.com will highlight each of the players on the 2013 squad. Each post will help fans get to know the Sooners better before watching them on the field this fall.

The third edition of the Countdown features forward Jamie Iurato from Mesa Ariz., and Paige Jacobs.

1. Nickname ... Jay or Tiny

2. Biggest Compliment given ... When an opposing coach takes time out to tell me that I was a great player

3. Biggest influence on your life ... I think my parents are one of the biggest influences. I mean, I live with them! But they are such great people and great examples to follow.
Soccer has also influenced who I have become and who I have yet to become. It's given me discipline and a sense of motivation and hard work.

4. Strengths ... Motivated, organized, quick, like to score, hard worker, strong, leader.

5. Weaknesses ... First touch, heading on the attack, overworking myself, dancing and singing.

6. Favorite Candy ...Nerds or sour gummy worms!

7. Favorite holiday ... Christmas

8. Do you have any heroes?
Superman!
My parents could also qualify, because they raised seven children (six of whom ranged from 0-6 when we were younger)! Not to mention that those six were all girls. But I love and admire my parents; they're great.

9. Do you have any hobbies, if so, please list them ... Scrapbooking, drawing and painting. I also love to work out and lift weights.

10. Name three people (famous, relatives, friends) you would invite to dinner?
Scotty McCreery, one of my many sisters or brother and Joe Vennard

11. What is the last song downloaded on your IPod?
"I'm a Flirt," R. Kelly

12. Favorite Movie ..."Pitch Perfect" or "She's the Man"

13. Favorite TV show ...It's a tie between Revenge and Vampire Diaries

14. Tell us something that we don't know about you?
I passed out while watching "127 Hours" in a 15-passenger van on the way to Salt Lake City for WPSL.

15. Describe yourself in five words ... Crazy, outgoing, hardworking, clean, fun.

16. In five years, I will be ... graduated from OU with good grades and married. ;)

Jamie Iurato Bio Brief
A member of the SC Del Sol club team, Iurato helped lead the squad to five consecutive state titles beginning in 2006. She was part of the Phoenix U23 WPSL squad as well. A multi-sport star, Iurato was also a four-year letterwinner in basketball and volleyball at Heritage Academy and helped her high school to two state volleyball titles.

What is your best highlight moment? Your dream highlight moment?
I scored the game-winning goal two of the five times we won state cup! It was one of the best feelings ever.
My dream highlight moment would be to win the Big 12 title and have scored.
