Kerr Foundation Computer Centers
![]() |
There are currently two computer labs within the Prentice Gautt Academic Center. They provide our athletes with access to nearly 100 computers. We also have approximately 40 laptops that are available for checkout when the lab is closed or unavailable due to travel.
Student-athletes also have access to a large amount of storage space on our network server. This offers plenty of room in order to save all necessary documents and other files. The Computer Center also provides presentation equipment such as an LCD projector and screen.
The Athletic Computer Centers have been a model for other universities around the country. We plan on being a leader in the future as well. Upgrades are scheduled annually for both centers along with a facelift for the entire facility. A deep commitment from the Athletic Department ensures that the excellence in the Computer Centers will continue for a long time.
Math Center
If performing math functions is a problem, the solution is the Math Center. As a supplement to class instruction, the Math Center provides all levels of math computations, concepts and problems in order to help student-athletes review course material. In addition, it offers personal as well as group tutoring sessions to assist with math assignments.
Kerr Foundation Foreign Language Center
Kerr Foundation Foreign Language Center
To assist student-athletes in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in other languages, the Kerr Foundation Foreign Language Center offers a multimedia environment that provides instruction in all foreign languages and in English as a second language. On an individual basis, student-athletes have the option of working with computers, audio-visual equipment, and tutors in order to enhance student athletes' language experience.

In addition, consultants can help student-athletes review basic writing strategies, develop proofreading skills, determine focus, follow a particular format, write a letter or design a resume. Whatever the reason, the Writing Center staff is dedicated to helping OU student-athletes become better writers.
Study Skills Center
If student-athletes have trouble with assigned textbook readings or studying, the Reading and Study Skills Center can help. It provides you with reading and studying techniques and how to make direct applications to current resources. Consultation, computer assisted instruction, tutoring and independent activities are available.
Communications Center
The Communications Center focuses on developing communication and public speaking skills for student-athletes. This state-of-the-art center, coordinated by a broadcast professional, builds strong media relations skills through the use of video equipment and a working media conference room featuring a stage and modern audiovisual systems.
