NORMAN — Each month, the OU Athletics Academic and People & Culture teams proudly nominate student-athletes who have demonstrated excellence and meaningful growth in various areas. Whether through academic achievements, leadership or community involvement, these individuals embody what it means to represent the University of Oklahoma with pride and dedication.
2026 January Student-Athletes of the Month:
Sophomore Orel Kimhi, a business major from Jerusalem, Israel, excels in the classroom while deciding which branch of business to pursue. His work ethic in the academic center is respected by all, and he leads by example of being kind and courteous. On the tennis court, he competes in the No. 3 or 4 position with a 4-1 season record in combined singles and doubles.
Freshman Kendall Wells, a health and exercise science major from Bogart, Georgia, finished her first semester with a 4.0 GPA. Her forward thinking in the classroom has set an example for others in her class, and she has already begun to excel on the diamond. Wells started all four games for the Sooners behind the plate on opening weekend and hit two home runs.
