10:27 p.m. | Support
The second half has gone from bad to worse for the Sooners here in the Cotton Bowl and obviously, it's difficult to provide updates on a blog when a game turns like this.
But, we'll continue to service all our platforms. Thanks again Sooner fans for all your support throughout this season and beyond. We recognize how fortunate we are to have a program like this to support.
10:06 p.m. | Blowing It Open
Texas A&M surged to a three-score lead in the third quarter, blowing open what was a tight, 14-13, game at halftime. The Aggie fans are yelling and swaying in the stands as they tend to do. Hard for Sooner fans to counter with the scoreboard the way it is. Finally a stop and the Aggies are punting.
9:57 p.m. | Stop the Bleeding
The Sooners really need the offense to get some points on this drive to stop the bleeding. You'd imagine the defense has to be gassed. Everyone knows OU can score but it just can't trade blows at this point, down by three TDs. Unfortunately, the drive stalls and after an illegal snap call, OU is forced to punt.
9:49 p.m. | Three-and-Outs
Story of the third quarter? All of Oklahoma's three possessions have been three-and-outs.
A&M has cashed in on the first two to take a 27-13 lead. We'll see how this third drive turns out. Well, that wasn't good. A&M scores on its fourth-down play. The Aggies are now up, 34-13, with 3:55 remaining in the third.
9:43 p.m. | Second-Largest Crowd
The Cotton Bowl just announced an official attendance of 87,025 which amounts to the second-largest crowd in the 77-year history of the game.
Only the Ole Miss-Texas Tech game in January, 2009, brought in more: 88,175.
9:38 p.m. | Punts, TDs
Punts by Oklahoma have resulted in touchdowns by Texas A&M here in the second half and the Aggies extend their lead to 27-13 after a missed PAT. Sooner fans know this offense can score quickly and this game is far from over but OU's defense has to be getting tired of allowing such huge chunks of yardage.
9:29 p.m. | Incredible Atmosphere
Hopefully it's coming across on the national TV broadcast on FOX but it's an incredible atmosphere here at Cowboys Stadium for the 2013 AT&T Cotton Bowl between the Sooners and Aggies. No official attendance numbers announced yet but we'd guess it's edging 90,000. Place is absolutely packed.
9:21 p.m. | Option TD for A&M
It has to be extremely frustrating for the Sooner d-linemen because they just can't seem to get a clean lick on Manziel. It's been that way all season. A&M options its way into the end zone and scores first in the second half.
It's 21-13, Texas A&M.
9:14 p.m. | Back to Action
Oklahoma has the ball 1st-and-10 from its own 25 here to start the second half in Arlington.
Let's see if A&M has adjusted to try and stop these monster drives by the Sooner offense. OU fails to get the first down but Tress Way gets off a 58-yard punt to put the Aggies on their own 9.
9:09 p.m. | Halftime Bullets
Here are quick halftime bullets on the Sooners: Oklahoma's second scoring drive lasted 18 plays and covered 87 yards in 7:26. It was the longest scoring drive of the season in terms of both plays and time. The team had a 17-play drive over 6:14 against Oklahoma State (11/24). The 18-play scoring drive tied for the second-longest in Cotton Bowl history. Oklahoma's game-opening scoring drive lasted 16 plays, the third-longest scoring drive of the season for OU. Landry Jones finished the first half with 175 passing yards, bumping his season total to 4,164 yards. It's his third straight season with 4,000+ passing yards. Jones completed 23 passes in the first half to set a Cotton Bowl record. The previous high was 15 by Rick Clausen of Tennessee in 2005. The 23 completions are already tied for the third most in Cotton Bowl history. Jones' 175 passing yards in the first half are the seventh-most in a half in Cotton Bowl history. Kenny Stills caught 6 passes for 52 yards in the first half. He became the fourth player in OU history to record 200 receptions in his career. He is now third all-time at OU with 203 career receptions. Stills and Jalen Saunders each caught six passes in the first half, tying with Tim Brown of Notre Dame for the third-most in a half in Cotton Bowl history. In the second quarter, Javon Harris intercepted his sixth pass of the season and the ninth of his career. Michael Hunnicutt made 2-of-2 field goals, putting his season totals at 17-of-21 and his career mark at 38-of-45. Hunnicutt now has six multi-field goal games this season and nine in his career.
9:03 p.m. | Thank You Cotton Bowl
While we're catching our breath and throwing out compliments, we'd be remiss if we didn't recognize the fantastic hospitality the team and all our staff have received down here at the Cotton Bowl. If you surveyed our team, you'd get raving reviews across the board. What an experience they provide all week. BCS bowls could take notes from this one right here in our backyard.
8:59 p.m. | Communications
We also want to give props to OU Athletics Communications staffers Pete Moris and Karl Anderson for their work in assisting the media, the Cotton Bowl staff, SoonerVision and Digital Media all week. Sooner fans don't see what they do behind the scenes but they enjoy the unprecedented coverage. Great job guys!
8:54 p.m. | Did You See It?
SoonerVision has done a phenomenal job all week of bringing Sooner fans TV bowl coverage from location down here in Texas. Here at halftime, they've already archived the pre-game show if you missed it. Take a second and see what they're doing:
