NORMAN, Okla. – The Oklahoma men's tennis program collected three ITA Central Region honors as John Roddick was named the ITA Coach of the Year, while sophomore Guillermo Alcorta and Dane Webb were honored as the Player to Watch and Rookie of the Year, respectively.

The ITA awards each of these and other honors to coaches and players from each of the 12 regions.

Roddick is in his third season at OU, where he has taken the Sooners to new heights this season as OU won its first regular season and postseason Big 12 Championships. Roddick's squad concluded the year with a 19-4 overall record, the Sooners best since 1992 when the Sooners went 20-4.

Guillermo, the 2012 Big 12 Newcomer of the Year, led the Sooners at the No. 2 and 3 positions for the majority of the year where he accumulated a singles record of 16-5 and is currently ranked No. 61-nationally.

Webb, a freshman from Richardson, Texas, cruised to a 21-1 singles record on the year after competing from the No. 3 to 6 positions for the Sooners. Webb, ranked No. 96 in singles, teamed with Costin Paval in doubles action where the duo amassed a 17-4 record and climbed to No. 10 nationally.

Webb and junior Costin Paval will take to the courts on May 23 in the doubles portion of the 2012 NCAA Championships at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga., following the conclusion of the team championship. Paval will also compete in singles tournament play.
