WACO, Texas -- No. 7 Oklahoma used its 12th game with multiple home runs to extend its winning streak to 17 games Saturday with a 5-0 win over No. 15 Baylor in Waco. The Sooners moved to 26-3 and 2-0 in the Big 12 while Baylor fell to 21-8 and 0-2 in the Big 12 as OU put together its sixth game in its last 11 with at least three home runs.

Michelle Gascoigne got the win for the Sooners as the junior moved to 11-0 on the year by striking out eight while giving up just two hits and two walks. A member of Oklahoma's pitching staff that entered the weekend ranked second nationally with an ERA of 0.83, Gascoigne threw Oklahoma's 16th shutout of the season and its second straight over Baylor following Friday's 2-0 win. The Bears' Liz Paul took the loss to fall to 6-4.

"I thought Michelle was great today with the ability to get out of some big jams. The presence of Keilani Ricketts at the plate and her home run to open the game really provided some confidence to the dugout after not scoring until the seventh inning yesterday," said OU Head Coach Patty Gasso. "Erica Sampson coming off the bench with a home run was clutch and I really loved our defense today. Jessica Vest made some exceptional plays and overall it was a well played game. If I had to pick one thing to improve on, it would be taking advantage of runners in scoring position."

Ricketts hit her second home run in as many innings to get the Sooners started in the first inning as she sent a two-run shot over the same panel of the Getterman Stadium fence that she hit a solo seventh-inning shot over in Friday's 2-0 win. Ricketts' eighth home run of the season brought home the junior and Jessica Shults who had reached base when she was hit by a Paul pitch.

A second two-run home run, courtesy of Big 12 home run leader Lauren Chamberlain, doubled the Oklahoma lead in the top of the third. After Ricketts walked to reach first, Chamberlain sent her conference leading 12th blast over the center field fence of Getterman Field to give Oklahoma its 12th game of the season with multiple home runs.

Baylor broke up Gascoigne's perfect game in the fifth when Clare Hosack walked before Holly Holl sent a single down the left field line. After a foul pop out to Brittany Williams down the left field line and a fielder's choice put Baylor runners on the corner with two outs, Javen Henson made a lunging catch of a sharply hit line to third to end the BU threat.

The Sooners added their fifth run of the day in the top of the sixth when pinch hitter Erica Sampson hit her second career home run, a solo shot, over the left field fence to extend Oklahoma's lead to 5-0. Sampson's shot gave OU its third home run of the day and its sixth game in the last 11 with at least three home runs.

The Sooners and the Bears close out the three-game series on Sunday at 12 p.m.
